The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProvide sound legal advice, guidance and support to various business/operational units within the Bank and actively participate in project support through provision of legal matters.\n\nReviewing and drafting various documentation, including IT contracts, commercial contracts, loan documentation, product and marketing collaterals.\n\nPrepare the analytical review of available information and suggest well-considered recommendations on lawful contents with multiple demands.\n\nCounsel the operating units on potential legal issues/opinions to ensure the organization’s interests are protected from a legal perspective.\n\nRepresent the Legal Department as a member of working groups where legal representation is required.\n\nJob Requirements:\nMalaysian citizen.\n\nA law graduate from a reputable university with at least 10 years of solid experience in general practice with an established legal firm in Malaysia. Handling portfolios in any one or more relevant areas such as banking, conveyancing, corporate finance or restructuring and/or in-house corporate counsel with knowledge of banking and financial services is a plus.\n\nBusiness and legal proficiency in English (written/spoken).\n\nIndependent self-starter with good interpersonal skills and detail oriented with good analytical research skills.\n\nAbility to make practical evaluations of risk and apply a commercially savvy approach to legal matters.\n\nAbout Hong Leong Bank\nWe are a leading financial institution in Malaysia backed by a century of entrepreneurial heritage.
