Accounting Manager

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As our Accounting Manager for Australia and New Zealand, you will lead the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong governance and effective accounting operations across Australia and New Zealand, while partnering with regional and global stakeholders to support business performance and compliance.

• Leading the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end, quarterly, year-end and statutory accounts.
• Leading the preparation and delivery of tax reporting including income tax, transfer pricing, GST and withholding tax.
• Overseeing general ledger, reconciliations, journal reviews and financial controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Managing cash flow, forecasting and liquidity in line with business needs and company policy.
• Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Leasing routines and day-to-day accounting operations.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, statutory requirements and internal policies including working with our auditors and external tax advisers.
• Lead, develop and support the Finance team while partnering closely with the Shared Service Centre.
• Provide financial insights, risk management and commercial support to inform business decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, audit activities, process enhancements and business continuity planning.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Reporting to the Regional Accounting Manager for APAC, you'll lead two direct reports and partner with an offshore shared services team, while working closely with the local Sales Market Controller to support month-end close governance and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders across the business at a local and global level.

WHO YOU ARE

An organised and people-focused leader with strong communication skills, commercial acumen, and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset. We are looking for people with;

• 5+ years' Finance or Accounting Manager experience within a large, high-volume Retail or FMCG business
• Degree in Accounting or Finance with a CPA or CA qualification.
• Demonstrated people leadership skills with the ability to partner across multiple business functions
• Leads from the front with a hands-on approach, building team capability while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations when needed
• Excellent communication skills - Building trusted relationships across the business, communicating clearly and confidently, providing expert guidance, and acting as a key escalation point
• Highly organised with strong time management skills, able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
