You will work at the intersection of Design, Engineering and Product, creating reusable components, APIs, patterns and tooling that can be adopted across multiple products.\nResponsibilities\nLead the design, development and evolution of reusable iOS components using Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit where appropriate.\nDesign scalable component APIs supporting variants, states, themes, composition and accessibility.\nTranslate Figma/design specifications into production-ready components in close collaboration with designers.\nContribute to design tokens and foundations such as colour, typography, spacing, sizing and themes.\nEstablish architecture, coding standards and engineering best practices for the iOS Design System.\nBuild accessibility, performance, quality and maintainability into components by default.\nWork with product teams to support adoption, identify gaps and turn recurring needs into reusable solutions.\nCreate clear documentation, examples and guidance that make components easy to discover and use.\nMaintain automated unit, UI and snapshot/visual regression tests where appropriate.\nOwn component evolution, including versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation and migration strategies.\nLead technical discussions, conduct code reviews and mentor engineers across the iOS community.\nExplore improvements to design-to-code workflows and developer experience.\nWHO YOU’LL WORK WITH\nWe in the Design System team, empowerteams to build great digital experiences. We connect Design, Engineering and Product through components, patterns, tokens and developer tooling.\nTeam Principles\nBuild reusable foundations that enable teams to move faster.\nCollaborate across Design, Product and Engineering.\nSolve real customer and developer problems rather than introducing technology for its own sake.\nDesign for consistency, accessibility, quality and scalability.\nTreat the Design System as a product, continuously improving it through feedback and adoption.\nShare knowledge and enable teams to contribute and succeed.\nWHO YOU ARE\nWe are looking for people with...\nSwift & iOS: 6-10 years of strong Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit experience; modern iOS SDK knowledge; Swift Concurrency; modular architecture and Swift Package Manager.\nDesign System Engineering: Experience building or contributing to an iOS Design System, component library or reusable platform; strong component/API design and understanding of variants, states, themes and composition.\nDesign & Design-to-Code: Experience collaborating with designers and translating Figma specifications into robust iOS components; understanding of design tokens and design-system foundations.\nAccessibility: Strong understanding of iOS accessibility, including VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, accessibility labels/traits and inclusive component behaviour.\nTesting & Quality: Strong unit/UI testing experience; snapshot or visual regression testing is valuable; understanding of CI/CD and automated quality checks.\nPerformance: Understanding of rendering, memory management and concurrency; ability to use Instruments and debugging tools to diagnose complex issues.\nArchitecture & Leadership: Ability to make architectural decisions, communicate trade-offs, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers and influence across teams.\nDeveloper Experience: Focus on discoverability, documentation, examples and ease of adoption for engineers consuming shared libraries.\nNice to Have\nExperience with enterprise-scale Design Systems or shared component libraries.\nExperience with Figma Variables, Code Connect, design-token pipelines or design-to-code tooling.\nExperience with visual regression testing and developer documentation platforms.\nExperience aligning iOS components with Web/Android Design Systems.\nExperience with developer tooling, automation, code generation or AI-assisted development workflows.\nWHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE\nAt H&M, we are proud to be a vibrant and welcoming company.
