The Substitute Meal Driver will ensure the timely, safe, and accurate delivery of meals to senior service sites throughout the Two Bridges and Lower East Side communities, while maintaining agency vehicles in safe and operational condition.\nResponsibilities\nMeal Delivery\nAssist with the packing and preparation of congregate meals for delivery.\nPick up meals, record food temperatures, and deliver meals to designated satellite senior service sites.\nAssist with meal service operations, including setup, temperature monitoring (twice daily), meal distribution, and cleanup as needed.\nMaintain accurate meal delivery, food temperature, and distribution records.\nAssist in coordinating delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize travel time between locations.\nOperate agency vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and agency policies at all times.\nVehicle Maintenance\nConduct daily vehicle inspections and immediately report any operational, mechanical, or safety concerns.\nEnsure current vehicle registration, insurance identification cards, and other required documentation are maintained in the vehicle at all times.\nMonitor and maintain vehicle fluid levels, tire pressure, windshield wipers, and fuel levels, ensuring the fuel tank remains above one-quarter full.\nCoordinate routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, inspections, and other service appointments as needed.\nMaintain the vehicle in a clean, safe, and professional condition at all times.\nArrange for vehicle washing one to two times per month, or as needed.\nMaintain accurate weekly fuel and mileage records.\nKeep detailed vehicle maintenance and repair logs.\nPick up and return the vehicle to the designated garage location on each workday.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nRemain available for assignments on an as-needed basis to provide coverage for scheduled and unscheduled staff absences.\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\nQualifications\nValid driver's license (Class D) and satisfactory driving record required. \nAbility to safely operate and maintain a delivery vehicle. \nAbility to lift, carry, and transport meal containers and supplies as needed. \nStrong reliability, punctuality, and customer service skills.\nFood Safety Certification required, or willingness to complete the required training and obtain certification upon hire.\nCompensation: $26 per hour\nWork Schedule: On call Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for a total of 20 hours per week.\nHamilton-Madison
