This position consults with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery. Applies engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity. Leverages technical knowledge and experience to address design related issues or concerns, working closely with the project manager through creative problem solving, interactions with clients and by completing tasks to meet the project schedule. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project completion using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software. May mentor, train and review work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB’s clients.\nWhat You'll Do:\nCompletes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.\nAssist in the development of project specifications.\nResponsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.\nAids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.\nProvides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.\nWorks closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.\nPerforms quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.\nAssists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nWhat You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or\nMaster’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience, or\nPhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience\nWhat You'll Bring:\nOptimizing work processes by using knowledge of the most effective and efficient ways to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.\nIndependently progresses the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.\nExperience with structural analysis, design, and load rating of bridges and transportation structures.\nDemonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and structural analysis software.\nDemonstrates a thorough understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.\nManages time, proactively forecasts, and communicates project development needs.\nWhat We Prefer:\nMaster's degree in Engineering.\nEngineer in Training (EIT) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.\nExperience with bridge rehabilitation, bridge replacement, structural inspections, and load ratings.\nExperience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and/or AREMA Manual for Railway Engineering.\nExperience with AASHTOWare BrR, CSiBridge, MIDAS Civil, LARSA 4D, or similar structural analysis software.\nFamiliarity with CTDOT, Metro-North Railroad, and/or Amtrak standards, requirements, and project delivery processes.\nAdditional Information\nClick here for benefits information: HNTB Total Rewards\nClick here to learn more about Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran\nVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.#RV #Bridges #LI-RV1.\nLocations:\nRocky Hill, CT (Hartford).\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\nThe approximate pay range for Connecticut is $91,710.82 - $143,445.15.
