Current and upcoming assignments include the WALK Bridge Program, the New Mix Program, the Northbound Gold Star Memorial Bridge Rehabilitation Project, the Saugatuck River Railroad Bridge Replacement, and on-call bridge and rail engineering services through CTDOT Major Bridge and Rail task order contracts. These assignments provide opportunities to work on some of Connecticut's most significant transportation infrastructure projects, including movable bridges, railroad bridges, major bridge rehabilitations, and the long-term modernization of the state's largest and most complex highway interchange. This position consults with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery. Applies engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity. Leverages technical knowledge and experience to address design related issues or concerns, working closely with the project manager through creative problem solving, interactions with clients and by completing tasks to meet the project schedule. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project completion using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software. May mentor, train and review work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB’s clients.\nWhat You'll Do:\nResponsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.\nAssists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.\nAssists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.\nOversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.\nCoordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.\nWorks closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nWhat You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or\nMaster’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or\nPhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience\nWhat You'll Bring:\nUnderstands the impacts of decisions on technical design, project delivery, and work planning.\nCoordinates work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines and project stakeholders.\nPrepares high-quality deliverables that are on time and within scope, budget, and quality objectives.\nDemonstrates sound engineering judgment and effectively communicates technical solutions to project teams and clients.\nProvides guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.\nWhat We Prefer:\nMaster's degree in Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) certification.\n6+ years of relevant bridge engineering experience.\nExperience with bridge rehabilitation, bridge replacement, structural inspections, and/or load ratings.\nExperience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and/or AREMA Manual for Railway Engineering.\nFamiliarity with CTDOT, Metro-North Railroad, and/or Amtrak standards, requirements, and project delivery processes.\nExperience with traditional and alternative project delivery methods, including design-build.\nAdditional Information\nClick here for benefits information: HNTB Total Rewards\nClick here to learn more about Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran\nVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.#RV #Bridges.\nLocations:\nRocky Hill, CT (Hartford).\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\nThe approximate pay range for Connecticut is $105,590.66 - $165,154.61.
