This position performs tasks for planning projects including research, studies, and documentation, coordinating with multi-discipline team members, from concept development through project completion. This position develops technical solutions and strategies for small-scale planning projects or for portions of larger projects and may serve as a task leader or project manager on a limited basis for select small scale project or task assignee on multiple projects.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nLeads aspects of internal and external coordination with project team members, including other discipline areas involved with the project.\nDevelops and maintains client meetings and interactions.\nConducts or directs research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning, and formulates recommendations.\nDevelops conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projects.\nLeads tasks under general direction related to the preparation and production of technical plans, studies, written reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects.\nResponsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation.\nCoordinates with clients, sub-consultants, and in-house personnel on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks.\nAssists in directing teams for small or medium sized tasks for projects.\nMentors and provides direction on the work of less experienced staff.\nAssists in the preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals and responses to RFP’s for projects.\nWrites major sections of and leads production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects. Also coordinates and synthesizes the contributions of others.\nResearch data sources, gathers data, and conducts analysis of data for use in projects.\nDevelops planning and analysis strategies using tools such as GIS, traffic, or safety software to manipulate data, assess scenarios, and perform project analysis.\nLeads planning processes and technical solutions that best meet the project needs.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nWhat You’ll Need:\nBachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field and 6 years related professional experience, or\nMaster's Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field and 5 yrs of relevant experience\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nRemains aware of new software tools available and stays current with the latest industry tools.\nIntegrates different sources of data to provide findings and recommendations to more experienced staff to move the project forward and determine solutions.
