This position consults with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery. Applies engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for complex and cross-discipline projects. Leverages technical knowledge and experience to address design related issues or concerns, working closely with the project manager through creative problem solving, interactions with clients and by completing tasks to meet the project schedule. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project completion using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software. May mentor, train and review work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB’s clients.\nWhat You'll Do:\nUses senior-level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions.\nResponsible for the discipline-specific planning, work distribution, and leadership and adherence to the schedule, and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects.\nAssists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.\nDevelops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects within discipline.\nOversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.\nProvides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives on complex or unusual engineering projects.\nCoordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects.\nLeads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects. Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.\nAssists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex or unusual engineering projects\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nWhat You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or\nMaster’s degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience, or\nPhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience\nWhat You'll Bring:\nDemonstrates strong technical knowledge and consistently produces high-quality work on multidisciplinary transportation projects.\nDemonstrates working knowledge of industry and agency standards, manuals, and guidance, including the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Highway Safety Manual (HSM), FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual/Handbook, FDOT Project Traffic Forecasting Handbook, and other applicable guidance.\nProficient in traffic operations and simulation software, including HCS, Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, CORSIM, and similar traffic analysis tools.\nExperience performing traffic safety analyses using both historical crash data and predictive methodologies consistent with the HSM and applicable FDOT guidance.\nExperience using FDOT-developed and macro-enabled traffic analysis, forecasting, and engineering tools.\nExperience preparing clear, concise, and technically sound traffic engineering studies, analyses, memoranda, and reports.\nExperience with ArcGIS and/or computer programming, scripting, or automation is a plus, particularly for improving the efficiency of data processing and analytical workflows.\nEffectively prioritizes assignments and demonstrates accountability to the project team, consistently delivering high-quality work on schedule and within established budget and scope.\nLooks beyond individual assignments to anticipate project needs, identify potential risks, and understand the broader implications of technical decisions.\nUnderstands the multidisciplinary nature of transportation projects and how traffic engineering analyses influence and support planning, design, safety, and overall project development.\nApplies technical knowledge and experience to identify opportunities for innovation and improve project efficiency, quality, and consistency.\nUses sound engineering judgment and advanced technical skills to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, select appropriate analytical tools and methodologies, and develop effective solutions that support successful project outcomes.\nWhat We Prefer:\n10 years of relevant experience.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license. \nAdditional Information\nClick here for benefits information: HNTB Total Rewards\nClick here to learn more about Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran\nVisa sponsorship is available for this position.#AJ #Traffic.\nLocations:\nFort Lauderdale, FL, Miami, FL.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\nNOTICE TO THIRD-PARTY AGENCIES:\nHNTB does not accept unsolicited resumes from recruiters or agencies.
