The successful candidate will join an industry-leading team serving state departments of transportation, regional tolling agencies, and city and county transportation agencies. The position will support a diverse range of transportation engineering services, including traffic design, Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and emerging transportation technologies. Traffic design responsibilities may include signalization, signing and pavement marking, and lighting analysis and design, along with other multidisciplinary transportation infrastructure improvements.\nThe candidate will leverage technical knowledge and engineering experience to identify and resolve design-related issues and work closely with project managers, technical leads, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and innovative solutions. Responsibilities will include completing assigned tasks in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, and applicable design requirements. The candidate will develop conceptual and detailed designs, engineering calculations, plans, and supporting documentation using current engineering design tools, software, standards, and established practices. The candidate may mentor and train junior engineering staff, review technical work, and provide constructive feedback to support their professional development and maintain the quality of project deliverables.\nWhat You'll Do:\nResponsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.\nAssists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.\nAssists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.\nOversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.\nCoordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.\nWorks closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nWhat You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or\nMaster’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or\nPhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience\nWhat You'll Bring:\nPrepare construction plans for signalization, signing and pavement marking, roadway lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.\nServe as the Engineer of Record (EOR), as appropriate, for signalization, signing and pavement marking, roadway lighting, and ITS plans and related engineering deliverables.\nPerform roadway lighting calculations and photometric analyses and develops lighting models using software such as AGi32.\nDevelop lighting layouts and plans and demonstrates a strong understanding of roadway lighting principles, design criteria, and photometric requirements.\nDevelop electrical service designs for roadway lighting and ITS projects, including associated power requirements and supporting design documentation.\nPrepare Engineer’s Estimates using applicable Basis of Estimates guidance, Cost per Mile models, historical cost data, and FDOT Long Range Estimates (LRE) software.\nDevelop project scopes, schedules, and budgets and supports the successful delivery of assigned projects.\nDemonstrate in-depth knowledge of FDOT design standards, procedures, and project delivery processes.\nApply the Florida Design Manual (FDM), FDOT Standard Plans, Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Florida Greenbook, and other applicable criteria in the development and review of engineering plans.\nUse and expertise in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop engineering plans and other design deliverables.\nPrepare technical memoranda, reports, design calculations, and supporting engineering documentation.\nCollaborate closely with traffic, roadway, drainage, structures, utilities, and other disciplines to coordinate designs and deliver multidisciplinary transportation projects.\nWhat We Prefer:\n8 years relevant experience\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license. \nAdditional Information\nClick here for benefits information: HNTB Total Rewards\nClick here to learn more about Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran\nVisa sponsorship is available for this position.#AJ #Traffic.\nLocations:\nTampa, FL.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\n.\nNOTICE TO THIRD-PARTY AGENCIES:\nHNTB does not accept unsolicited resumes from recruiters or agencies.
