Possesses an advanced knowledge of the position and provides a willingness to put forth extra effort.\nEssential Functions\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nSelects materials and structural unites, such as lumber, prefabricated doors and cabinets of wood or plastic and paneling. \nShape or cut materials to specific measurement using hand tools, machines and/or power saw. \nExamines blueprints to determine dimensions of structure. \nLayout floor plan and cabinet work, using rule, framing square and calipers. \nDetermines sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly and erection of structure. \nInstalls structures, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, builds stairs, cabinets, countertops and lays hardwood floors and tile work. \nAble to hang & finish drywall and accessories. \nFollow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment. \nUnderstand and follow company chain of command and reporting methods. \nRetain and apply what is learned as it applies to the next skill level. \nRegularly attend company safety training sessions. \nCompetencies\n1. May work at great heights or outdoors in all weather conditions. Start and end time dependent on time of year.\nTravel\nTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.\nExperience\nTwo or more years of experience in a related area preferred. \nThorough knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions of the carpentry trade. \nThorough knowledge of the use and characteristics of common building materials. \nSkill in the use of carpentry tools and wood working equipment. \nAbility to work from sketches, drawings, plans or specifications. \nMust be ability to stand for long periods of time, must be able to regularly at least 50 pounds of force. \nAble to perform job duties with little to no supervision \nGeneral understanding of construction practices. \nCommunication skills both verbal and written and ability to take direction and carry out job duties as needed. \nEducation\nHigh school diploma or Equivalent required.
