This includes defining the skills required at different career stages, integrating AI into core learning and development programmes, developing reusable assets and establishing a consistent global delivery cadence\nKey Responsibilities\nSpecific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible\nBusiness program.\nAI skills framework and curriculum architecture\nDevelop and maintain a clear, role-based AI capability framework for lawyers and Business Teams, with meaningful proficiency levels and observable capability expectations.\nTranslate developments in AI, legal practice, client expectations and the firm's digital strategy into prioritised learning and development requirements.\nMaintain a firm-wide view of existing AI learning and development, identifying gaps, overlaps and opportunities to reuse or improve content.\nDesign a modular curriculum that can be adapted across program, regions, practices and audiences.\nEmbed responsible use, professional judgement, verification, information handling and appropriate human supervision throughout the curriculum.\nEstablish a regular process for reviewing and refreshing the framework as tools, risks, workflows and business priorities evolve.\nLearning and development design, and delivery\nLead the design and delivery of firm-wide HLC Lead & Learn AI learning and development curriculum; including developing role-relevant pathways for partners, associates, Business Teams and people leaders.\nCreate or commission practical learning and development on prompting, critical evaluation, supervising AI-supported work, workflow redesign, automation and agents.\nTranslate internal use cases into exercises, demonstrations, playbooks, prompts, toolkits and reusable assets.\nApply evidence-informed adult-learning and curriculum-design principles to create engaging, accessible and practical experiences.\nWork with facilitators and regional colleagues to build delivery capability and maintain quality at scale.\nProgram integration\nPartner with program owners to embed relevant AI capabilities across the firm's core learning and development portfolio, including but not limited to onboarding and practice specific activities. \nSupport the redesign of learning and development so that AI is applied to each program's substantive objectives rather than added as a separate technology topic.\nBuild clear links between programme outcomes, AI capability expectations, practical application and follow-up resources.\nStakeholder partnership and market insight\nFacilitate structured conversations to identify priority skills, emerging use cases, learner needs and barriers to adoption.\nAdvise stakeholders on the learning and development implications of new tools, workflows and AI-enabled ways of working.\nMonitor relevant research and market developments in AI capability, legal education and professional learning and development.\nEvaluate external content and providers, recommending where the firm should curate, commission, partner or build internally.\nEvaluation and continuous improvement\nDefine success measures for the AI curriculum, including reach, progression, application, confidence, behaviour change and stakeholder outcomes.\nUse learner feedback, assessment evidence, platform data and stakeholder insight to improve the curriculum.\nWork with Digital L&D colleagues to report clearly on provision, coverage, capability gaps and priorities.\nSupport the development of a sustainable global operating model for AI learning and development.\nSkills & Experience\nNo specific professional qualification is required. Relevant professional qualifications in learning, organisational development, change, digital or technology would be advantageous.\nEssential\nSignificant experience in learning and development, capability building, curriculum design, organisational learning or a comparable discipline.\nDemonstrable experience designing structured learning pathways or capability frameworks for multiple roles or career levels.\nStrong practical understanding of generative AI and its implications for professional work, learning and capability development.\nExperience translating complex or rapidly evolving subjects into clear, relevant and practical learning.\nStrong knowledge of adult learning and development, instructional design and blended learning.\nExperience leading complex program across multiple stakeholders, teams or regions.\nCredibility and confidence working with senior leaders and subject-matter experts.\nStrong facilitation, communication and influencing skills.\nAbility to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.\nStrong judgement concerning responsible AI use, quality, verification and human oversight.\nAbility to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment.\nExperience in a law firm, professional-services organisation or similarly regulated, knowledge-intensive environment.\nDesirable\nExperience embedding capability development into career, leadership or professional-development program.\nExperience with legal AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, workflow automation or other enterprise AI tools.\nExperience establishing learning and development measures that go beyond attendance and satisfaction.\nExperience commissioning or managing external learning and development providers and content partners.\nA relevant learning, organisational development, coaching, change, digital or technology qualification.\nManager/Senior Manager calibration\nManager: able to independently design and run the curriculum, manage senior stakeholders and deliver through established governance.\nSenior Manager: able to set enterprise-wide capability direction, influence senior strategic decisions, lead complex global integration and establish the longer-term operating model.\n\nEqual Opportunities Statement\nIt is the policy of Hogan Lovells Cadwalader to provide equal opportunities for all employees in relation to recruitment, training and promotion.
