Our work has been recognized at the highest levels, including the Structural Engineering Excellence Awards for projects such as Energizer Park in St. Louis and Chicago O’Hare International Airport Terminal 5. In addition to working on impactful, award-winning projects, you’ll enjoy a flexible hybrid schedule with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.\nThis position can be filled in our Denver, Kansas City, or St. Louis offices.\nRESPONSIBILITIES: \nProjects (75%) \nLead engineering efforts on large or complex projects.\nOversee engineering design for major projects and provide design input and reviews for smaller projects.\nParticipate actively in all phases and levels of project development.\nEnsure high-quality, timely project delivery and effective team coordination across all offices.\nMentor engineering staff throughout project work. \nManagement and Technical Improvement (15%) \nManage regional team resources, including workload forecasting, staffing, and coordinating shared work with other office leaders. \nMentor engineers with a focus on elevating design quality, technical excellence, and workflow efficiency. \nMonitor and manage project financial performance with a commitment to profitability. \nLead regional initiatives in technical development, design quality, delivery standards, and QA/QC. \nOversee development and maintenance of typical details, specifications, drawing standards, and Revit standards in collaboration with the BIM team. \nPromote knowledge sharing on technical issues and innovative solutions to strengthen the team’s expertise. \nEnhance analytical processes, documentation, and standardized solutions for recurring and critical design challenges. \nFoster a strong culture of internal and external client service. \nBusiness Development (10%) \nSupport engineering-related business development, including proposal writing, interview participation, and identifying new opportunities. \nPartner with HOK market leaders on engineering pursuits and lead engineering-driven opportunities across all markets. \nStrategic Responsibilities \nServe as a key leader within the regional multidisciplinary engineering group and participate in firmwide leadership for the engineering discipline. \nContribute to long-term business planning and execution of strategic initiatives. \nIdentify and pursue new local market opportunities for engineering services. \n Performance Measures \nEfficiency and profitability of the engineering discipline within the region and its contribution to firmwide success. \nQuality of design solutions, including integration, innovation, sustainability performance, and recognition from peers. \nQuality of technical output, evaluated by design completeness, minimal change orders, and client satisfaction. \nStrength and cohesion of the discipline team, reflected in effective work sharing, consistent quality, aligned standards, and strong communication. \nDemonstrated contributions to winning new work, with a focus on client retention and repeat business. \n\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: \n15+ years of project engineering experience from concept through completion, including high profile built projects. \nLicensed SE preferred (in states requiring SE) or PE/CE as applicable. \nLEED AP or LEED Green Associate preferred. \nNCEES Record enabling reciprocity in any state. \nBachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree preferred. \nTrack record of major project success, including: \nRecent projects totaling $100M+, and \nAt least one project totaling over $250M. 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams of 10+ individuals and collaborating within integrated, multidisciplinary teams.
