Our goal is the green transformation of our Group's cement production plant inMilaki, Evia, into a net zero carbon facility, utilizing innovative carbon capture technologies.\nBased in ourAthens Head Offices, you will join our Project Team for this large-scale CO2 emissions avoidance \"OLYMPUS\" Carbon Capture project that will spearhead the decarbonization of energy intensive industries. OLYMPUS is a flagship project in Holcim’s European decarbonization roadmap. It will lead to the development of storage capacity in southern Europe. With a target operational date of 2028, the project aims to capture and store 1 million tons of CO₂ annually. In 2023, the project was selected for a grant from the EU Innovation Fund.\nThe Role\nThe Project Engineering Manager will be responsible for the overall engineering management, coordination, and technical governance of the OLYMPUS project across all major process areas and disciplines.\nThe role covers cement plant retrofitting (new calciner, WHR, preheater revamping), alternative fuels systems, carbon capture plant, new jetty, and associated utilities (HV substation, wastewater treatment, seawater treatment, and full integration with existing plant networks including power, sewage, and compressed air systems). You will ensure full technical integrity from basic design through detailed engineering and execution, while managing Engineering Providers, Vendors, and Subcontractors in alignment with project, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.\nKey responsibilities include:\nManage all engineering activities for the project and support the Permitting/EIA Manager on all technical aspects.\nEnsure execution of engineering contracts, including deliverable lists, technical reviews, and compliance with project requirements.\nReview and approve all engineering deliverables from Subcontractors and Vendors, ensuring quality, completeness, and technical alignment.\nEnsure effective execution of key engineering reviews, including HSED, constructability, layout, and design readiness reviews.\nOversee cost-effective engineering solutions and ensure design optimization while maintaining technical robustness.\nManage technical changes, modifications, and resolution of engineering issues in a timely and structured manner.\nEnsure full coordination and interface management between disciplines, vendors, and subcontractors, including battery limits definition.\nPrepare technical specifications for engineering services, procurement packages, and construction contracts.\nLead technical clarifications during tendering processes and participate in vendor/subcontractor selection, bid evaluation, and negotiations.\nMonitor engineering progress, ensure delivery according to schedule, and report deviations with clear mitigation actions.\nManage technical documentation systems and ensure proper document control and distribution.\nSupport construction and commissioning phases by ensuring availability of complete and approved engineering documentation.\nCoordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, including external partners, to ensure site requirements are met and delays are minimized.\nEnsure collection and organization of final technical dossiers and as-built documentation.\nSupport definition of maintenance strategies, inspection routines, and reliability requirements for new equipment.\nKey Success Factors & Prerequisites:\nStrong ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary engineering scopes in large industrial projects.\nExcellent interface management and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders.\nStrong problem-solving mindset with proactive risk identification and mitigation.\nAbility to ensure clear reporting, progress monitoring, and technical governance.\nStrong commitment to Health, Safety & Environmental standards.\nAvailability for frequent coordination meetings with designers, vendors, and subcontractors (including international travel).\nWhat are we looking for\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering ; Master’s degree is an asset.\nExtensive experience (10+ years) in engineering and engineering management roles within large-scale industrial or EPC/EPCM projects.\nProven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering scopes and teams across full project lifecycle.\nStrong background in large capital projects (cement, power, oil & gas, or heavy industry).\nDemonstrated ability to manage complex interfaces between vendors, subcontractors, and engineering contractors.\nExperience in technical governance, decision-making, and ensuring compliance with project scope, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.\nStrong leadership in coordinating engineering deliverables and driving accountability across multiple stakeholders.\nSolid experience in vendor/subcontractor management, technical evaluation, and coordination during execution.\nStrong understanding of industrial engineering standards, safety, and regulatory frameworks.\nAbility to operate effectively in
