The trainer will prepare learners for employment, further training, digital entrepreneurship and responsible participation in technology-enabled workplaces. Regulatory and professional alignment The post shall be performed in accordance with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Act, 2025; current TVET Council human-resource, registration, licensing and continuing professional development requirements; the curriculum or training package approved for the programme; applicable UVTAB assessment rules and centre procedures; occupational safety and health requirements; and Institute policies. The trainer must remain eligible to train and assess within the scope authorised by the competent regulators.\n\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nRecruitment focus:\n\nOne qualified female trainer to strengthen gender inclusion and female learner mentorship\n\nTraining planning and delivery\n\nPrepare work plans, schemes of work, activity plans, lesson plans, worksheets, practical projects and training materials.\n\nDeliver practical training in computer applications, operating systems, hardware, networking, internet use and digital productivity.\n\nTeach introductory programming, databases, web or digital-media skills where these are part of the approved programme.\n\nIntegrate entrepreneurship, communication, employability, online safety, data protection and responsible use of technology.\n\nAssessment and learner evidence\n\nDevelop assessment plans, practical tasks, rubrics and marking guides aligned to approved learning outcomes.\n\nConduct continuous and summative assessment and maintain accurate learner portfolios and competence records.\n\nParticipate in moderation, internal verification, external assessment and assessment-security procedures.\n\nProvide timely, specific feedback and organise remedial or extension activities based on evidence.\n\nLaboratory systems and cyber safety\n\nMaintain computer-laboratory inventories, user accounts, software licences, maintenance logs and issue records.\n\nApply basic network, endpoint, backup, malware-prevention, access-control and dataprotection practices.\n\nEnforce safe use of electrical equipment, ergonomic workstations and responsible disposal of electronic waste.\n\nReport equipment faults, security incidents and resource needs promptly.\n\nLearner support gender inclusion and mentorship\n\nCreate a respectful learning environment in which women and men participate fully in practical activities.\n\nMentor female learners on confidence, career pathways, workplace readiness, safeguarding and progression in technology fields.\n\nMonitor attendance, progress and conduct and refer welfare or safeguarding concerns through approved channels.\n\nSupport clubs, innovation projects, competitions, industrial attachment and career guidance.\n\nIndustry linkage and professional development\n\nBuild relationships with ICT employers, service providers, innovation hubs and placement organisations.\n\nUse employer feedback and current technology practice to improve examples, projects and laboratory activities.\n\nMaintain trainer registration, licensing and continuing professional development as required.\n\nParticipate in inspections, programme reviews, staff meetings and quality-improvement actions.\n\nQualifications, Skills and Experience:\n\nEssential education and professional qualifications\n\nBasic andragogy training and eligibility for TVET Council trainer registration and licensing.\n\nA recognised instructor qualification such as DITTE, PGDTTE or an accepted equivalent, where prescribed for the appointment.\n\nDemonstrable practical competence appropriate to the approved ICT programme and level.\n\nEssential experience\n\nAt least two years of relevant ICT industry, technical-support, systems, networking, software or digital-services experience.\n\nExperience teaching, training, coaching, supervising interns or mentoring learners in practical ICT skills.\n\nExperience maintaining a computer laboratory, user environment or ICT service records.\n\nPreferred qualifications and experience\n\nExperience delivering competence-based education and practical assessment in a TVET setting.\n\nIndustry certification in networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, cloud services, software development or digital productivity.\n\nExperience supporting girls or women in education, safeguarding, STEM clubs or career mentorship.\n\nKnowledge and technical competence\n\nComputer hardware, operating systems, productivity software, troubleshooting, networking and internet services.\n\nCyber hygiene, access control, privacy, backups, safe online behaviour and responsible use of artificial intelligence tools.\n\nAt least one additional area relevant to the programme, such as programming, databases, web development, graphics or systems administration.\n\nCompetence-based training, practical assessment, learner records, blended learning and digital classroom tools.\n\nBehavioural competencies and personal attributes\n\nConfident practical facilitator and positive role model for female learners.\n\nClear communication, patience, creativity and strong learner-support skills.\n\nIntegrity, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity and commitment to safeguarding.\n\nOrganised, dependable, collaborative and committed to continuous technical learning.\n\nPerformance expectations\n\nApproved ICT content is delivered through well-planned practical training and valid assessment.\n\nLearner competence, completion and progression improve, with active participation by female learners.\n\nLaboratory equipment, software, accounts and records are secure, current and well maintained.\n\nSafeguarding, cyber safety, assessment integrity and inclusion standards are consistently applied.\n\nTraining remains relevant through employer engagement and continuing professional
