They will prepare harvests through processes that prepare cannabis for flower sales and oil extraction. The Postharvest Technician will also be responsible for equipment/room sanitization and sterilization as well as maintaining facilities cleanliness.\nDuties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nStrong time management skills and multi-tasking in a busy office environment\nMonitor the weights and accuracy of recorded post-harvest materials, throughout all Post Harvest processes \nAdhere to the departmental, site and corporate safety policies\nAssembles the materials needed for a team to packaging, box and store flower. \nLeading/Facilitating a team to follow Standard Operating Procedures for harvest, bucking, trimming, packaging, labeling, grinding, drying and curing cannabis harvests in preparation for oil extraction and/or flower sales\nTag flower and trim for compliance\nMaintain a neat and organized work area allowing for the proper segregation of materials and processes \nLeading a team to precisely trim flower that will be sold for flower sales \nResponsible for facility and equipment cleaning in a clean room manufacturing environment to maintain required standards\nResponsible for organizing work areas and performing daily tasks such as washing and sanitizing equipment and racking systems\nFill out logs related to postharvest (daily, weekly, monthly)\nSanitization and sterilization of post-harvest processing equipment and rooms such as stainless-steel racks and shelve \nStrong emphasis on documentation according to state regulations and internal tracking. \nOther duties as assigned, or any reasonable request from any member of management \nAssist manager/supervisor in conducting audits\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nGeneral\nRegulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain medical marijuana work credentials - applicable marijuana licensing regulations may disqualify individuals with certain criminal convictions.\nEducation/Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required\nCannabis experience preferred\n2+ years skilled manufacturing work experience\nRequired Knowledge and Skills:\nFamiliarity with weights and measures\nAbility to accurately fill out documentation\nMust be able to clearly communicate with team members\nPossess basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication\nAbility to gown and work in an aseptic/clean room environment.\nSafety equipment may be required\nAbility to understand and follow processes to produce products that meet quality standards\nEffective verbal and written communication skills\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands\nAbility to comply with established safety standards for the proper use, safe handling and disposal of harmful chemicals, substances, and hazardous wastes.\nMust be able to work in a challenging fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to details\nENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nWarehouse environment with artificial lighting and ventilation\nPotential for mold exposure.\nPotential for allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to the marijuana plants\nCarbon dioxide (CO2) may be encountered. CO2 can displace oxygen at high concentrations. CO2 exposure can cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, rapid breathing, and increased heart rate; in extreme cases, unconsciousness and death can result.\nThe warehouse is properly ventilated, however, marijuana cultivation produces ozone from the chemical reaction of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, such as terpenes that are given off from the marijuana plant. Terpenes and nitric oxides can be associated with eye, skin and mucous irritation. In some people, ozone can cause decreased lung function and/or exacerbate pre-existing health effects, especially in workers with asthma or other respiratory complications.
