This role works from engineering drawings, specifications, and verbal or written instructions to perform precise measurements and inspections, collect dimensional data, and support product development and manufacturing activities.\nThe Senior Metrology Technician assists in determining appropriate inspection methods and measurement strategies for incoming inspection in a production environment. This includes:\nDetermination of measurement equipment suitability based on the part and feature to be inspected. Fabricated parts include custom machined, cast, injection molded, sheet metal, assemblies, and off-the-shelf components.\nInspection method development - including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), portable CMM arms, laser scanning systems, Keyence vision systems, optical comparators, and conventional handheld measurement tools and gauges.\nMeasurement system validation to show capability\nCreating written instructions of inspection methods used by incoming inspection\nThis individual works on assignments of moderate complexity, exercising sound judgment in resolving technical issues and making recommendations. The successful candidate possesses a strong understanding of metrology principles and independently performs a broad range of inspection and measurement activities while collaborating closely with engineers and technicians across the organization.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nThe incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the responsibilities listed below, as reasonably required by business needs.\nCollaborate closely with engineers and engineering technicians to collect, analyze, and document dimensional inspection data.\nDevelop, validate, and maintain inspection programs using PC-DMIS and associated metrology software.\nOperate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), portable CMM arms, laser scanners, Keyence vision systems, optical comparators, and conventional measurement equipment.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.\nDesign and implement fixture solutions to support accurate and repeatable inspections.\nDevelop and execute inspection procedures and measurement plans.\nIdentify, diagnose, prioritize, and resolve technical inspection and measurement issues while partnering with cross-functional teams as needed.\nConduct inspection studies, measurement system analyses (MSA), and capability assessments to support engineering and quality objectives.\nCreate, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and related documentation.\nActively support and comply with the Quality Policy and Quality Management System procedures.\nBuild collaborative relationships with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and other site stakeholders.\nRecommend process improvements, measurement enhancements, and efficiency opportunities based on direct observations and technical expertise.\nSupport prototype, verification, validation, and product development activities through accurate and timely measurement services.\nProvide improvement ideas based on direct observations.\nQualifications:\nEducation\nPreferred Minimum Non-Technical Degree: High School (H.S./GED) or Associate Degree\nExperience\nPreferred Minimum Non-Technical Degree: 2-4 Years \nSkills\nExperience with PC-DMIS is required\nAdvanced knowledge of MS Office\nExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills\nExcellent organizational and time management skills\nAdvanced ability to read, and interpret engineering drawings.\nThe annualized base salary range for this role is $58,100 - 87,200 and is bonus eligible.
