The\nposition is responsible for management of designs from initial concept to completion.\nThe incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a\ndaily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core\nbusiness values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead reviews of project technical specifications with collaborating engineering\nand operations team members to develop/define product concepts\nDefine structural specifications, loading limits, stress and fatigue points, etc.\nthrough analysis\nModify drawings to incorporate customer, manufacturing, and technical changes\n Create or modify Holt Manufacturing product designs and technical documents\n(bill of materials (BOM), product support procedures)\n Review and verify product designs and bill of materials with operations to\ndetermine project meets safety, manufacturability, and quality objectives\nApplies knowledge and experience with design and manufacturability of variety of\nHolt Manufacturing products\n Assists in creating or modifying fixturing, jigs and tooling\nWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies\nwith all company policies, procedures, and standards\n Requires regular and punctual employee attendance\n Performs other duties as assigned\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nTechnical skill and knowledge of mechanical engineering, including mechanism,\nhydraulic, pneumatic and thermal engineering\n Strong SolidWorks design background with a focus on mechanical sheet metal\nparts, structural weldments, FEA utilizing simulation, and PDM works\n Experience in water or fuel tank design and applicable UL standards\n Ability to create design and support documentation\nProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); ability to\nproduce information in spreadsheets, documents, forms, tables, and\npresentations\n Strong communication skills, both written and verbal\n Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills\n Strong organization skills, detailed-oriented, and ability to work on multiple\nprojects\n Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple\ndepartments and various levels of the organization\nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from\nmanagers, coworkers, and customers (internal and external)\n Ability to work independently and as part of a team\n\nEducation and Experience:\n B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) minimum\n Five years of product design experience required, seven years preferredo SolidWorks, ProE, AutoCAD, Ansys etc.\n NRTL standard compliance and certification\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone\nTravel:\nTravel is not expected for this position\nPhysical Requirements:\nThis position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally,\noccasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets,\netc.\nThis role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate\ninformation in these situations\nWork Environment:\n This job is performed in a professional office environment in environmentally\ncontrolled conditions as well as manufacturing environment around fabricationand assembly operations\nEssential functions are performed in close physical proximity to other people\n Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions\n\nDisclaimer:\nPlease note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and\nlevel of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
