This work will include but will not be limited to: supervision of drivers, record keeping, customer communications, implementing new techniques and equipment, assisting drivers with technical information, driver training and safety. This position also involves after hours work due to the nature of the Parts Shuttle transportation.\n\nEssential Functions\nModel, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.\nPlan, monitor and control Parts Shuttle activities for a specific region of HOLT Territory to ensure alignment with the company mission and core business values to achieve established regional service objectives and business unit forecasts.\nSelect, develop, and evaluate transport personnel to ensure commitment, competence, and human resource availability.\nCommunicate, monitor, and enforce transport department policies in order to ensure a high level of consistency within the service division.\nModel, reinforce and monitor safe work practices to ensure that work environment hazards and lost time accidents are reduced and/or eliminated.\nOversee driver operations to include adherence to all DOT regulations, company policies, and department procedures.\nOversee the operations, maintenance, and repairs of all Parts Shuttle trucks and trailers.\nInsure parts and cargo are delivered on time, to include the employment of outside carriers as needed.\nReview routes to insure all requirement are met and stops are identified.\nWork closely with Store Parts Managers to insure requirements are met.\nMake recommendations to the Transport Manager (Parts Shuttle) and/or the Sr Director Transport and Fleet for process improvements and enhancements.\nMonitor and track trucks and trailers for replacement.\nMake recommendations to the Transport Manager (Parts Shuttle) and/or the Sr Director Transport and Fleet, in conjunction with Store Parts Managers, for new routes as needed.\nWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.\nPerforms other duties assigned.\n\nThe incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExcellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills\nKnowledge of state and federal DOT requirements and guidelines\nStrong knowledge of the logistics and transport industry\nExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills with both internal and external customers\nStrong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills\nTime management and organizational skills\nAbility to handle a complex workload\nAbility to identify complex problems and to review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions\nConsulting and influencing abilities\nAbility to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public\nBasic knowledge in accounting principles and make arithmetic computations\nRequirements\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred\n5+ years as a haul driver of dry vans or larger and within the transportation or logistics industry required\nCDL preferred\nDelivery operations experience preferred\nSupervisory experience required\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing and resolving problems.\nTravel:\nTravels monthly with possible overnight travel.\nValid driver’s license.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThis position involves extended periods in a stationary position.\nThis role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.\nConstant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.\nRoutinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.\nWork Environment:\nThis job is performed in both a professional office environment, in environmentally controlled conditions, and outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.\nFrequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.\nRequires dealing with unpleasant, angry, or discourteous people.\nInternal Employees: SUBMIT KCA QUESTIONNAIRE WITH YOUR RESUME\n\n Disclaimer: Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
