The hours for this position is Friday - Sunday 5am -5:30pm\nThe incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis:\nDemonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; \nCollaborate with key internal/external resources; \nParticipate in ongoing self-development.\n\nEssential Functions\nPerforms painting preparation process to assure quality paint application\nOperates painting or coating tools on assigned equipment in order to improve appearance that results in customer satisfaction\nStraightens body panels and fenders\nFills small dents that cannot be worked out with body filler\nFiles, grinds, sands and smooths filled or repaired surfaces\nSands or sandblasts areas to be painted and cover bumpers, windows, and trim with masking tape or paper for protection \nPrimes and paints repaired surfaces with care, skill and detail using applicable manufacturer paints and standards; details equipment\nMaintains paint booth and painting equipment. Maintains the paint booth clean and in safe working order \nPerforms light mechanical work to replace parts (e.g. handles, hinges, panels, etc.) \nRemoves and applies equipment decals \nPerforms final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced\nControls labor costs at or below quoted flat rates in order to achieve departmental goals\nCompletes necessary paperwork on a daily basis in order to provide timely invoicing\nMaintains and controls company property and resources in a manner to ensure cleanliness, reliability, and minimize expenses\nCompletes special projects as requested by department supervisor in order to meet customer and/or business needs\nMaintains and completes daily/monthly usage or material consumption reports required for EPA/OSHA; as well as procuring, supplying, and maintaining any current and new MSDS information records for all products\nDisposes of hazardous waste in an appropriate manners, and maintains all equipment and work areas - keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition\nWorks overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs\nUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities\nWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards\nRequires regular and punctual employee attendance\nPerforms other duties as assigned\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nGeneral knowledge of tools, equipment, methods, materials, and terminology used in the paint trade\nGeneral knowledge of safety procedures as they relate to the use of paints, solvents, glues, tools, and equipment\nDemonstrates basic knowledge of estimating, planning, and controlling cost of repair jobs\nDemonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems\nKnowledge of safety procedures as they relate to the use of paints, solvents, glues, tools and equipment \nSkilled in the application of paints and other finishes by brush or spray gun\nQuality control analysis skills to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance\nOperation and control skills for controlling the operation of equipment or systems\nEquipment selection skills by determining the kinds of tools and equipment needed to do a job\nAbility to operate a forklift and an overhead crane\nThe ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions\nAbility to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair\nThe ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects\nThe ability to read, write, and understand information\nThe ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences\nAbility to learn the more complex aspects of the paint trade\nRequirements\nEducation and Experience:\nThree or more years of experience in painting and/or body work in automotive or similar shop environment preferred \nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred; associate degree or technical training from an accredited vocational school strongly preferred\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone\nTravel:\nUp to 10% travel maybe expected\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue\nFrequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 80 pounds \nConstant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina\nAscends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment\nBe able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment\nRoutinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work\nWork Environment:\nRegularly works indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions and around moving mechanical parts, unfavorable fumes and odors, and hazardous chemicals\nMay be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity \nIncludes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable\nExposure to contaminants, small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment\nRequires wearing specialized protective or safety equipment\nRequired to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places\nRequires being exact or highly accurate\n\nDisclaimer:\n\nPlease note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
