This position is responsible for performing inspections, diagnosis, and repair of heavy construction equipment under carriage in a shop environment or field. This position will work alone or part of Team. This position will involve removing and installing complete undercarriage which includes tracks, rollers frames, idlers, and sprockets segments. It will also require performing repairs on broken links assemblies which include the use of a cutting torch. Candidates should have or be able to obtain a CDL Class B with air brakes endorsements. Must be willing to work overtime as needed.\n\nEssential Functions\nPersonally models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission Statement\nMust complete VBL, DiSC and Conflict Resolution\nPerforms basic undercarriage repairs on all brand of equipment on the customer job site.\nDisassembles, cleans, inspects, repairs, and assembles undercarriage components.\nEvaluates, measures, and monitors undercarriage conditions.\nWorks as a member of a team to provide services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals.\nWorks overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs.\nPrepares service reports and any other necessary paperwork.\nMaintains all company equipment, tools, and work areas in a good, clean, and working order.\nPerforms and completes most tasks with no supervision.\nAct as a team member on large projects.\nProvides assistance, coaching, and mentoring to other Undercarriage Technicians.\nAdheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.\nWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.\nRequires regular and punctual employee attendance.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nThe incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nKnowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.\nKnowledge with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems.-CAT ET & CAT SIS 2.0\nExcellent work habits, accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of work.\nWell-developed technical skills.\nVerbal and written communication skills.\nEffective influencing skills which include motivating and developing customers and employees.\nTime management skills.\nCritical thinking and problem solving.\nAbility to follow logical troubleshooting procedures.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to follow manufacturer and company installation and service guidelines to ensure quality work.\nAbility to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment.\nAbility to be self-starting, self-motivated, and be a leader.\nAbility to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands in order to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.\nAbility to read, write, and understand information.\nAbility to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.\nRequirements\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nAt least 3 years of heavy construction equipment undercarriage experience preferred\nLicense Requirements;\nMust have a Commercial Driver License Class B minimum\nMust be able to obtain a CDL within 90 days from starting\nMust be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a DOT Medical Card\nMust have a safe driving records for the past 4 years. No serious driving offenses\n\nAdditional Requirements:\nMust own an assortment of tools and specialized tools to perform the job.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone\nTravel:\nTravel is required for this position with possible overnight stays.\nPhysical Requirements:\nSignificant amount of time standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, and reaching\nConstant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterity.\nCommunicates with customers, service managers, and co-workers.\nRoutinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.\nMust be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.\nBe able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment.\nFrequently lifts and moves materials and equipment up to 80 lb.\nAscends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment.\nWork Environment:\nRequires wearing common protective or safety equipment.\nRegularly works outdoors around moving mechanical parts and noise level may be loud at times.\nExposure to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.\nExposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment.\nRequired to perform work in cramped spaces, awkward positions and/or high places.\nExposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings.\n Disclaimer:Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
