We’re looking for a pragmatic, business-minded inhouse tax wizad to own our tax topics end-to-end and help us scale across markets with speed and confidence.\nThe mission of the role is to translate complex tax requirements into clear, actionable guidance for the business - ensuring compliance, optimizing outcomes, and building scalable processes while enabling bold, high-speed decision-making.\nResponsibilities:\n Own day-to-day tax management across the group (e.g. VAT, corporate income tax, trade tax), partnering closely with Accounting and Legal.\nLead VAT / indirect tax topics, including registrations, periodic returns, reconciliations, and improvements to processes and data quality.\nCoordinate filings and deadlines with internal stakeholders and external advisors, ensuring accurate and on-time submissions.\n Support month-end and year-end close (e.g. tax provisions) with clean, audit-ready documentation.\nBe a proactive business partner for cross-functional teams by assessing tax implications of new initiatives, contracts, promotions, and market entries.\nDrive scalable tax processes and controls, including documentation standards, templates, and tooling to make tax “self-serve” where appropriate.\nMonitor regulatory changes and translate them into practical guidance, training, and process updates for the organization.\nAbout You\nYou are a hands-on, structured problem-solver who sees tax as a key element to build the business - not to slow it down. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring strong ownership, and communicate clearly with both finance experts and non-finance stakeholders. You can balance compliance rigor with pragmatic decision-making, and you enjoy improving processes as the company scales.\nWhat you bring:\n Excellent communication skills in both German and English are a must.\nDegree in tax, finance, law, or comparable qualification (Steuerberater:in is a strong plus).\n4+ years of relevant tax experience (in-house and/or tax advisory), ideally in a fast-growing B2C/D2C company in Germany.\nStrong practical knowledge of the German tax landscape.
