You will also run purchasing for the operations team, making sure we buy at the best available price.\nSuccess means every job leaves fully kitted, the system matches the shelves, and our materials costs are stable and controlled.\nResponsibilities:\nWarehouse and stock control\nReceive and check all deliveries against purchase orders, book them in the same day, and resolve shortages, damages, credits and returns with suppliers.\n\nPick, pack and stage materials for each job ahead of its install date.\n\nKeep the warehouse organised, labelled and safe, with clear locations for every product line.\n\nRun cycle counts and full stocktakes, investigating and correcting any variances.\n\nManage warranty returns, and arrange compliant disposal of packaging waste and removed equipment.\n\nRemote location and van stock\nOwn stock levels at our remote location and all transfers to and from the main warehouse.\n\nSet a standard van stock list for each team, audit and top up vans regularly, and reconcile usage against jobs.\n\nRecord every stock movement so we always know where stock is, and work with installers to cut wasted trips.\n\nPurchasing and cost control\nRaise purchase orders for all operations materials, in line with job requirements and lead times.\n\nBenchmark prices across suppliers before significant purchases, and negotiate prices, discounts, payment terms and delivery charges.\n\nMaintain an approved supplier list tracking price, lead time, reliability and quality.\n\nSet reorder levels, keep stock holding right for cash flow, flag slow-moving items, and warn operations early of supply risks.\n\nForklift and health and safety\nOperate the forklift to move palletised stock, and keep lifting equipment inspected and compliant with LOLER and PUWER.\n\nStore lithium-ion batteries and other hazardous items safely, following manufacturer guidance and fire-risk controls.\n\nKeep the warehouse compliant on risk assessments, manual handling and COSHH, and make sure anyone else using the forklift is certified.\n\nSystems and reporting\nKeep stock records accurate on our job management system, and help set up stock management on our new system, including data migration.\n\nReport monthly on stock value, accuracy, purchasing spend, savings achieved and supplier performance, and work with operations, design and sales to plan material needs.\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\nForklift Certification: A current counterbalance forklift certificate from an accredited body such as RTITB, AITT, ITSSAR or NPORS.\n\nWarehouse Experience: Proven experience running a warehouse or stores, ideally in an installation, construction or electrical business.\n\nPurchasing & Supplier Management: Hands-on purchasing experience, including negotiating prices and managing suppliers.\n\nStock Control: Strong stock control skills, from goods in and picking to cycle counts and stocktakes.\n\nSystems & IT Skills: Confident with stock or job management software and Excel.\n\nOrganisation & Communication: Highly organised and accurate, with clear communication skills when working with installers, office staff and suppliers.\n\nExtra Credit:\nProduct Knowledge: Knowledge of solar PV, battery storage, EV charging or electrical wholesale products.\n\nBattery Handling & Safety: Experience storing and handling lithium-ion batteries safely.\n\nStock Management Systems: Experience setting up van stock systems or moving stock records onto new software.\n\nHealth & Safety: IOSH Working Safely or a similar health and safety qualification.\n\nOur Recruitment Process:\nInitial Call: Start with an introductory call with our Head of People to discuss the role and your potential fit.
