The role is scoped around using advanced knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to support:\nParticipation in designing & re-designing hardware\nAlternative / Obsolete materials evaluation, development, and qualification\nEvaluation of performance and/or compliance of supply chain\nMaintenance of documentation relating to the definition of requirements for materials and processes\nThe role will interface & support multiple internal and external customers.\nPrimary responsibilities:\nTo be the site focal of all Environmental regulations (including REACh & TSCA), including identifying non-compliance to regulations, identifying design changes to meet the intent of the regulations and justifying design changes both internally to Honeywell Aerospace and all external customers. \nTo maintain compliance with the regulations as they evolve for Honeywell Aerospace design.\nCandidate will be part of Design and Applications Engineering, Value Engineering, and support Supplier Transition requirements, including serving as part of the investigation in concurrent Design: participate to defining manufacturing process approval requirements, product testing and design new material qualification for aerospace applications.\nDriving specification evolution from locally owned process specifications towards global Honeywell Aerospace or industry standards and significant supplier technical support for components with special processes, conducting maintenance audits to ensure specification and process compliance, support determination of Root Cause and Corrective Action associated with process or product escapes, and identification of manufacturability improvement opportunities and cost reduction.\nSkills/Experience/Education Required:\nA minimum of a Degree or HNC/HND in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or similar.\nIn-depth knowledge of and experience with Chemical Aerospace Materials and Processes, Process Selection, Specifications and Applications.\n Knowledge of chemical regulations (REACh) is preferred but not essential\nExperience in a materials design/selection and/or process engineering role is preferred.\nExperience would be beneficial in any of the following: writing specifications, drawing review & approval, product failure investigations, technical reports writing, documentation change management, developing process parameters, troubleshooting or auditing manufacturing processes (incl. special processes), process control and compliance.\nOur Offer\nOpportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies with global impact.\nA collaborative and innovative environment within a world-leading technology company.\nProfessional development and career growth opportunities.\nJoin us now and make an impact!\n\n We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
