You will combine strong engineering judgement with project execution skills to identify risks, resolve issues and maintain progress towards programme. milestones.\nYou will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Edinburgh, UK location on an on-site work schedule.\n Key Responsibilities\nOwn and coordinate the engineering execution of assigned projects or major work packages, ensuring delivery against agreed technical, schedule, cost and quality objectives\nDevelop, maintain and communicate the engineering plan, including scope, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, resources and technical activities\nEnsure engineering activities remain aligned with overall programme objectives, customer requirements, contractual commitments and business priorities\nTranslate programme and customer objectives into clear engineering activities, deliverables and execution priorities\nSupport the definition and maintenance of the engineering scope of work, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), schedules and resource plans \nCoordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across areas such as Systems, RF, Hardware, Firmware, Software, Mechanical and Test Engineering\nCoordinate engineering resource requirements with functional and technical leaders and proactively identify resource constraints\nManage and monitor engineering budgets, forecasts and resource utilisation associated with assigned engineering activities\nIdentify, assess and manage technical and programme risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation or recovery actions are established\nLead the resolution of cross-functional technical and execution issues, ensuring clear ownership and timely closure\nCoordinate project activities with Programme Management, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and other key stakeholders\nEnsure engineering deliverables and supporting data packs are prepared and mature for formal programme and engineering reviews.\nSupport and coordinate key lifecycle reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR and associated technical reviews, where applicable\nEnsure baseline changes affecting engineering scope, schedule or budget are appropriately assessed and controlled\nMonitor engineering performance and provide clear reporting of status, risks, issues, dependencies and recovery actions to programme and engineering leadership\nSupport customer technical interactions and programme reviews, providing clear communication on engineering status and technical matters\n Key Skills and Qualifications\nDegree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or another relevant technical discipline, or equivalent industrial experience\nSignificant experience working within a complex engineering environment, ideally within aerospace, defence, space or another highly regulated industry.\nProven track record in leading or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities across the product development lifecycle\nStrong understanding of engineering project management principles, including planning, scheduling, cost management, resource management, risk management and change control\nExperience working through structured engineering development lifecycles and formal design reviews\nAbility to understand complex technical issues and communicate their programme, cost and schedule implications to both technical and non-technical stakeholders\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies and stakeholders simultaneously\nDemonstrated ability to identify delivery risks early and proactively drive actions through to resolution\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting engineering status and recommendations to senior stakeholders\nAbility to operate effectively with a high degree of autonomy and take ownership of engineering delivery\nWe Value\nExperience within aerospace, defence, space, communications or other highly regulated engineering environments\nExperience delivering complex electronic, RF, embedded, communications or Software Defined Radio products\nKnowledge of formal engineering lifecycle reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR and TRR\nExperience with requirements management, configuration management, verification and validation, and engineering change control\nExperience with Work Breakdown Structures, integrated schedules, resource planning, cost forecasting and engineering performance management\nUnderstanding of Earned Value Management or similar programme-control methods.
