Work as part of a highly engaged and integrated Materials Engineering team. You will collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will participate in all phases of product development and will be a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.\nYou will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.\nThis position will provide support for new and existing cast products including aerospace gas turbine engines used for propulsion and auxiliary power.\nPrimary responsibilities include support for materials and processes involved in the design and manufacture of cast parts, as well as regular interaction with suppliers to help resolve issues. May occasionally need to lift 35 pounds single lift, and travel approximately 10-20%.\n YOU MUST HAVE\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.\n2 or more years of experience in materials/process engineering in the casting industry\n2 or more years experience with nickel, aluminum, steel, and/or titanium aerospace cast alloys\nWE VALUE\nBachelor’s Degree with specialization in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering\nAdvanced degree in engineering or another related field a plus\nUnderstanding and hands-on experience in casting (Investment/sand casting production processes are a plus) \nFamiliarity with industrial materials and processing specifications\nFamiliarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements and approvals\nCapable of assessing new suppliers and determining their strengths and weaknesses\nExperience with conducting casting supplier audits (investment castings, and sand casting audits are a plus)\nWorking with and developing suppliers\nExperience troubleshooting material and process issues, and providing technical solutions for rapid problem solving\nLiaison work between suppliers and Honeywell Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineers (SDE), and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).\nWorking with Design Engineering \nUnderstanding engineering drawings and requirements\nExperience in Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools\nProvide technical expertise and support in materials and process engineering with an emphasis and machining operations and processes.\nDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.\nSPONSORSHIP\nWe are currently not sponsoring applicants for work visas for this job.
