This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.\nThe Redditch site specializes in the design, development, and manufacture of components for small-scale cooling infra-red devices used in guided weapons and thermal imaging systems, high pressure actuation systems, and satellite cryogenic systems. A lot of the programmes are for space/military markets and you will be responsible for managing your project from start to finish. Every day.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead engineering of mechanical products from concept through completion of qualification.\nDevelop/support development, from concept to production, of product/test rigs/processes that adhere to customer's performance, qualification & safety specifications, whilst also adhering to milestone and cost requirements.\nOrganizing and coordinating tasks associated with the successful completion of activities in support of engineering programs such as New Product Introduction (NPI), productionization and engineering production support.\nCoordinate/support transition from engineering to production of new products within specified cost, schedule, and process requirements, ensuring the manufacturability of new products.\nSupport technical proposals for new business enquiries, as directed, and support the sales function as required.\nImplement defined engineering process improvement measures and activities that will improve quality and cost-effective production, enhancing customer satisfaction.\nProvide necessary engineering technical support to other program teams within engineering and production.\nProvide monthly progress reports of activities relating to projects.\nWhere necessary support product manufacturing with deviation/waivers and root cause corrective action.\nKey skills and qualifications\n15-20 years of mechanical engineering experience is desired\nFundamentally, a good sound mechanical engineer with experience of running projects \nKnowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/programming is a plus\nKnowledge of or interest in learning fundamental joining processes (soldering, brazing, welding, etc.) is a plus\nMinimum Mechanical Based Engineering Degree (HND/HNC acceptable if supported by relevant work experience), with some experience in relevant industry.\nExperience of working in an engineering function as opposed to production is advantageous.\nUnderstanding of new product development, product lifecycle and introduction to production through a gated process is advantageous.\nDesired industry experience can be defense, aerospace, automotive, or oil / gas (other industries are encouraged to apply if supported by demonstrable ability).\nProject engineering experience useful with understanding of typical project engineering tools and processes.\nStrong communication/organizational skills working with multifunctional teams.\nStrong engineering and analytical skills advantageous.\nUnderstanding/background of thermodynamics, heat transfer and/or fluid mechanics would be an advantage.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes would be an advantage.\nLooking for a driven individual with a willingness to learn new technologies and develop their skills.\nWe offer\nCareer Growth: Clear pathways for advancement, regular feedback, and mentorship opportunities.\nSkill Development: Access to training and certifications.\nWork-Life Balance: Flexible working arrangements and support for combining work with education.\nTech and Innovation: Access to modern tools, technologies, and innovative work environments.\nCompany Culture: Sense of community, team-building activities, and social events.\nHoneywell Aerospace products and services are found on aircraft across commercial aviation, defense and space - from engines and cockpit electronics to cabin systems, mechanical components and connectivity solutions.
