Consider Honeywell Aerospace.\nThe most important thing we build is TRUST\nOVERVIEW\nOur San Diego location is seeking an experienced Lead Embedded Digital Engineer for new product development and product improvement projects, working with customers and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Take a leading role in shaping our technical approach by increasing the digital footprint in our products. Take ownership for the digital architecture within a phased radar or Electronic Warfare application and drive the design from concept to production. As a lead embedded engineer, you will also lead and mentor junior engineers.\n RESPONSIBILITIES\nArchitect, simulate, design, develop, support implementation, and integration of digital functions and sub-systems into Honeywell Aerospace products.\nPerform requirements analysis, trade-off studies, select optimum practical implementation.\nPerform requirements specification, digital design, firmware design, simulation, design verification, system integration, and transition to production.\nTranslate specifications into digital designs including microcontrollers, FPGAs, DRAM, digital synthesizers, A/Ds, D/As, sensors, switching and linear regulators.\nCircuit card design including parts selection, schematic entry, and layout oversight\nPartition FPGA architectures and develop and simulate VHDL firmware.\nCreate or use novel algorithms for RF electronics sub-system applications\nLead test and integration of circuit cards / sub-systems / systems.\nInterface with complex RF subsystems and/or motion-controlled positioner assemblies.\nAuthor related documentation such as design description documents, verification procedures, etc.\n QUALIFICATIONS\nThe annual base salary range for this position is $157,000-$197,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell Aerospace considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.\nDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization\nMust Have:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering.\nMinimum 7 years' experience in Engineering in high-tech R&D and/or manufacturing companies.\nWork experience in electronic product design and development.\nExperience in all phases of circuit card development from inception through production (architecture, schematics, layout, debug and documentation), and FPGA applications.\nMinimum of 5 years’ job experience using Altera Quartus, Xilinx Vivado, or similar FPGA development tools.\nExperience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and all other aspects of electrical engineering.\nPreferred:\nMaster of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.\nSeven (10) years of experience working with RF/Microwave systems, analog to digital converters (ADCs), digital to analog converters (DACs) or knowledge of RF front end signal flow.\nThree (5) years of experience in system engineering with one or more of the following modeling and design tools: MATLAB, Simulink, Xilinx System Generator or Altera Platform Designer.\nExperience taking a design from concept to production.\nKnowledge of high-speed digital and/or analog design.\nProficiency with Xilinx Vivado and Altera Quartus tool sets.\nWorking experience with I2C, SPI, JESD204, PCI Express, and Ethernet interfaces and standards.\nExperience using coding and scripting languages: C/C++, Python, Lua, TCL.\nExperience with prototype assembly, turn-on, and debug in a laboratory environment.\nExperience with radar, EW/ELINT/SIGINT, and communications are a plus.\nExperience working in and driving results for a matrix organization.\nActive security clearance.\nPrior experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry\nAbout us:\nJoin a company that's reintroducing itself to the aviation community we've helped advance for more than a century.
