You will report directly to an Engineering Manager and work out of our Phoenix (Deer Valley), Arizona location on a hybrid schedule.\nIn this role, the Lead PE will be responsible for the successful execution of Flight Controls development programs. Lead PE serves as the primary engineering focal point for assigned programs and is accountable for the technical, cost, schedule, and risk performance of the engineering scope of work. Working closely with Program Management, customers, and cross-functional engineering teams, the Lead PE drives program execution from proposal and planning through certification, customer delivery, and program closeout.\nThis role is intended for experienced Project Engineers who possess the ability to independently lead complex programs with minimal management oversight while effectively influencing customers and stakeholders across multiple organizations.\nes.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead the successful execution of Flight Controls programs, ensuring achievement of technical, cost, schedule, quality, and customer objectives.\nServe as the primary engineering interface to customers, Program Management, and cross-functional stakeholders.\nIndependently manage engineering scope, planning, execution, risks, and deliverables with minimal management oversight.\nLead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Systems, Software, Hardware, Safety, Certification, Manufacturing, and Quality organizations.\nDrive identification, mitigation, and resolution of technical, schedule, cost, and program risks and issues.\nEnsure compliance with company development processes, certification requirements, and program governance practices.\nSupport business growth through proposal development, engineering estimates, change requests, and customer engagements.\nMentor Project Engineers and provide leadership in the development of project management best practices within the Flight Controls organization.\nYOU MUST HAVE\nBachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum of 6 years of experience related to flight controls or related avionics programs.\nWE VALUE\nMaster’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience as a PE.\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification. If you do not currently hold a PMP, you may be expected to obtain the certification through Honeywell Aerospace's sponsored PMP program.\nDemonstrated leadership and project management skills with the ability to independently drive complex programs.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills with customers, program management, and cross-functional engineering teams.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through development, integration, test, and certification activities.\nKnowledge of DAL A avionics systems development, verification, validation, and certification processes with FAA, EASA, CAAC or other civil aviation certification agencies.\nExperience integrating and testing DAL A avionics systems in laboratory, ground test, and flight test environments.\nExperience supporting proposal development, customer pursuits, and business growth initiatives.\nPassion for developing talent and driving a culture of accountability and execution excellence across engineering teams.\nUS PERSONS REQUIREMENT\nDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.\nAbout us:\nJoin a company that's reintroducing itself to the aviation community we've helped advance for more than a century.
