In this position, you will work to validate new process equipment, troubleshoot existing equipment, decrease defects, and create and implement new laser weld and burn-in processes for product development.\nYou will report directly to our Environmental Screening Manager and you’ll work out of our San Jose, CA location on an On-site work schedule.\nIn this role, you will impact the efficiency and quality of manufacturing processes by providing hands-on support to production, validating and improving equipment and processes, and ensuring products meet customer and MIL STD screening specifications.\n KEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nProvide daily production support to the environmental stress screening area by evaluating defects, working with operators, and troubleshooting machines and processes on the manufacturing line to maintain production flow\nSupport burn-in, leak testing, PIND, acceleration, and laser welding areas\nValidate existing products on new burn-in and laser weld equipment for production use\nPerform laser weld engineering validation of new and existing products for production\nUnderstand customer requirements and MIL STD screening specifications to determine if new products can be welded and tested internally\nApply SPC and statistical analysis to monitor and improve processes, identify defects, and improve yields\nDesign and run engineering tests to improve efficiency and develop updated processes for new product development\nTrain operators and write work instructions to document key process steps\n YOU MUST HAVE\nMinimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1 to 5 years manufacturing experience\nDemonstrated ability to make improvements to manufacturing processes\nHands-on experience with DC circuits and electrical schematics\nExperience working on optics equipment or systems such as laser cutters or laser welders\nProficiency in spreadsheet software for basic data handling and analysis or writing test scripts in MATLAB, Python, VBA, R, or equivalent\nFlexibility to support a variety of areas and manage time effectively\nMust be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship\nWE VALUE\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team with engineers and technicians\nExperience using data loggers and sensors (e.g., thermocouples, accelerometers)\nBeyond a performance-driven salary, you'll work alongside dedicated experts on technology that's advancing aviation.
