In this role, you will be responsible for developing a variety of technical documentation, including user manuals, operating instructions, online help, release notes, product data sheets, and installation instructions.\nThis role provides opportunities to work with global cross-functional product teams and gain deep knowledge of enterprise software products and technologies. Technical documentation is required and valued as part of most products. Each writer’s role is important to the writing team’s contribution and the overall success of those products.\n Job Responsibilities\nCreate and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including product data sheet, user guides, installation manuals, release notes for software and hardware products based on the Client’s Framework.\nLearn and work with Client’s software and hardware products.\nUnderstand client’s customer personas and their specific needs. \nRefer demos, videos and anything else that helps to collect pieces of information to develop technical documents. \nWrite task-based topics with related concepts and reference topics as needed. \nDefine content strategy and architecture at the product level based on collected technical publication plan.\nDevelop technical documents from scratch by gathering requirements, structuring content, and ensuring accuracy and completeness.\nCollaborate with engineers, developers, product managers, offering managers, and subject matter experts to collect, validate, and update technical information.\nCollaborate with other Technical Writers (client team) in a team environment. \nFollow client Style Guide and workflow standards for authoring, review, and publishing.\nReview and check documents as per approved templates, checklist, and set standards.\nCommunicate and arrange reviews/approvals from global stakeholders.\nResponsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or E&TC engineering streams - Preferred\nBachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline or science-related field\nBachelor’s Degree in technical writing, communications, engineering, journalism, English, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n Background\nYou must have:\n3+ years of experience in the technical writing domain.\nProven experience in creating technical documents from scratch, including planning, structuring, writing, and publishing content.\nProficiency in Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) - mandatory.\nMust have hands-on experience using documentation tools - Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, and/or AEM Guides.\nMust have hands-on experience using collaboration tools - Jira, and Confluence.\nSophisticated knowledge of structured authoring and single sourcing.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including native-level competency in English.\nCapability to quickly learn complex technical concepts & product technicalities.\nRequires occasional flexibility in working hours to effectively collaborate with global stakeholders in meetings aligned with the Eastern Standard Time (EST) time zone.\nAbility to communicate complex concepts clearly\nGood time management & prioritization of assigned tasks & projects.\nDemonstrated attention to detail.\nReliably self-motivated and comfortable working independently.\nNice to have:\nExperience in technical documentation of Building Management Systems, Network controllers, building controls, security systems, industrial controls, data centers, or energy management tools and controls. \nExperience with AI tools and their use for content generation, review, and migration.\nLeverage generative AI and content intelligence tools to improve documentation development, review, migration, and maintenance processes.\nUse AI-assisted technologies responsibly to accelerate content creation while ensuring technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with documentation standards.\nEvaluate opportunities to improve content discoverability, customer self-service experiences, and knowledge management through AI-powered solutions.\nContribute to the adoption of modern documentation practices such as AI-assisted authoring, content reuse, metadata optimization, and intelligent search\nDemonstrate an understanding of the responsible use of generative AI for documentation, including content generation, editing, summarization, migration, quality review, metadata enrichment, and knowledge management.\nFamiliarity with writing for localization material.\nAbout us\nThe Building Automation group at Honeywell Technologies specializes in delivering advanced solutions that enhance building performance, efficiency, and safety.
