{"id":3308452,"url":"https://alion.io/job/hood-container-senior-capital-projects-coordinator","title":"Senior Capital Projects Coordinator","company":{"id":3868248,"name":"Hood Container","domain":"hoodcontainer.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/hoodcontainer","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"ADP","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":75,"open_postings":6,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":31,"computed_at":"2026-10-29T05:49:05Z"}},"role":"Administrative","role_family":"Administrative","seniority":"senior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Atlanta, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":47000,"max_usd":95000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":1815},"experience_years_min":5,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-27T02:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-27","last_verified_at":"2026-10-29T09:39:34Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":2,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":2},"description":"Hood Container is seeking a Senior Capital Projects Coordinator to help drive the planning, financial justification, governance, and execution of capital investments across our packaging manufacturing operations.\nWorking closely with plant General Managers, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and the Capital Projects Manager, this role ensures capital projects have a strong business case, clear scope, sound financial justification, and disciplined project controls from initial request through closeout.\nThis is an opportunity to have broad visibility across the organization and help shape how capital investments are evaluated, prioritized, managed, and reported.\nHow You Will Contribute\nPartner with plant leaders to develop complete, approval-ready capital project proposals, including scope, business justification, budgets, schedules, risks, and expected benefits.\nDevelop and evaluate financial justifications, including ROI, payback, cost savings, productivity improvements, and other business benefits.\nCoordinate the stage-gate and capital approval process, ensuring projects meet governance and documentation requirements.\nTrack project budgets, commitments, actual spending, forecasts, cash flow, schedules, and key milestones.\nProvide project management and coordination from initial planning through execution and closeout.\nIdentify and escalate budget, scope, schedule, or project risks requiring leadership attention.\nMaintain capital project systems, documentation, and portfolio reporting.\nPrepare clear project updates, forecasts, variance analyses, and executive-level reporting.\nDrive consistent capital processes, controls, templates, and reporting across multiple manufacturing locations.\nPartner with Project Engineers and technical teams responsible for engineering design, equipment specifications, installation, and commissioning.\nTravel to Hood Container facilities to support project development, reviews, and execution.\nWhat It Takes\nBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.\n5+ years of experience in capital projects, project controls, project management, manufacturing, financial analysis, or a related area.\nStrong understanding of capital budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, financial justification, and project management.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities across different locations and stakeholders.\nStrong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and project-management/reporting tools.\nExcellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with plant leadership, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and senior leaders.\nAbility to travel approximately 50%.\nPreferred Qualifications\nManufacturing experience, preferably in corrugated packaging, paper, converting, or another capital-intensive environment.\nExperience supporting a multi-site capital portfolio.\nExperience with ROI/payback analysis, stage-gate governance, project controls, and capital forecasting.\nPMP, CAPM, or related project management certification is a plus.\nHere's why you'll love working at Hood Container:\nCompetitive pay & benefits: We offer a competitive base salary, an annual bonus program, and a comprehensive benefits package to keep you healthy and happy.
