The Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Apprentice does this by developing their own skills to ensure facility equipment is operating on all shifts at maximum efficiency with minimum downtime in order to maintain productivity. The Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Apprentice builds their own competence in the areas of manufacturing equipment, PLC and other electronic/mechanical functions in the facility. The Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Apprentice completes these functions in the support of the manufacture and distribution of dairy related products.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities: (but not limited to):\nResponsible for achieving assigned goals in the areas of maintenance, efficiency, safety, food quality, job performance, and cost control.\nResponsible for complying with GMP's, SOP's, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.\nEffectively learns and develops skills related to ensuring facility equipment is operating on all assigned shifts sat maximum efficiency with minimum downtime, to maintain overall productivity.\nBuilds own competence in the areas of manufacturing equipment, PLC and other electronic/mechanical functions in the facility.\nDevelops technical skills in various capacities, specifically equipment operation, electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance {PM), supporting PLC and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.\nLearns how to perform Preventive Maintenance Functions on all facility equipment and begins, light to intermediate, PM tasks based on skill advancement.\nLearns how to operate various types of equipment to include, but not limited to electrical meters for troubleshooting, PIT, and various personal hand tools. May also include the operation of any or all shop and manufacturing equipment.\nGains knowledge of all equipment operation and energy sources as related to safe lock out tag out.\nLearn how to analyze and take appropriate action on problems associated with manufacturing equipment.\nLearns how to troubleshoot electro/mechanical issues when they occur including, but not limited to, installation, diagnosis, calibration, maintenance/repair of equipment and electronic devices.\nLearn how to inspect and operate material handling equipment: Stretch wrap machines, forklift, VNA, reach trucks & hand trucks and changes batteries in a safe manner.\nCovers breaks and lunches and other staffing needs assigned by their manager/coordinator.\nCompliant with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, SQF guidelines, and food safety on their assigned shift and reports concerns to their manager/coordinator.\nWorks in a safe manner and reports safety concerns promptly to their manager/coordinator and takes corrective actions.\nEnsures work areas are sanitary and strictly adheres to sanitation practices.\nCommunicates effectively between shifts and other departments.\nOther duties as assigned by your manager/coordinator.\nEducation and Experience:\nMinimum High School Diploma, or GED\nMust have Mechanical Aptitude\nMust be a self-starter\nSkills and Competencies:\nAbility to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure, to sufficiently handle job tasks\nAble to engage in and further develop critical thinking skills related to mechanical and industrial troubleshooting and intervention.\nUnderstand and respond appropriately to basic employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.\nRead, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions {Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need).\nKnowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and your role in achieving each of them.\nAbility to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area. \nSatisfactorily complete all company training requirements.\nAbility to interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information\nResponsible for reporting to work in a condition to work.\nResponsible for ensuring compliance with GMP dress code standards by wearing company issued uniform.\nComply with performance criteria, standards of conduct as contained in company policy, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the company handbook.\nMaintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct safety issues.\nResponsible for completing all assigned apprenticeship classes and on the job activities.\nRequires morning, afternoon and overnight availability any day of the week based on assigned shift.\nThroughout the program will follow a rotating crew schedule that will be on all four crews by end of program.\nMay be required to travel for training.\nWill be working in a traditional food manufacturing facility.\nMay be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens.\nMay be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.\nAbility to move throughout all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building including the roof, catwalks, terrain, and confined spaces.\nAble to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.\nStand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.\nPhysically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.\nVisual acuity corrected to perform job functions.\nResponsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned manager/coordinator prior to the occurrence.\nExact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.\nThe pay range for this position is\n$23.83—$27.99 USD\nReady to join us?
