The primary focus involves planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing the execution of Design/Build projects, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, equipment utilization, and safety objectives.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign comprehensive HVAC systems (including ductwork, piping, controls) for design-build projects, adhering to local, state, and national codes, as well as recommended design practices, standards, and guidelines.\nProactively pursue and secure new business opportunities by cultivating and sustaining strong client relationships, delivering presentations to potential clients, and demonstrating a thorough understanding of proposed project plans, specifications, and contractual documents.\nAttend meetings to coordinate design issues with clients and other disciplines, overseeing plan submittals for city and state reviews.\nConduct engineering reviews of shop drawings, track submittal progress, and manage distribution to relevant parties, including equipment vendors. Ensure compliance with specifications and designs.\nOversee drafting work for design/build projects and provide support to project managers on design-assist projects and coordination efforts for construction sites.\nContinuously enhance in-house design standards, specifications, quality programs, and contribute to business development initiatives.\nStay updated on the Wisconsin Commercial Building Code and other relevant codes, reviewing, and analyzing HVAC-related code changes, and disseminating information to contracting and service departments.\nContribute to LEED projects, including documentation, project ranking and credits, analysis of mechanical systems, and participation in verification and construction activities.\nMaintain a high level of competency in the HVAC industry through ongoing education, training, and active participation in industry-related organizations.\nConduct field surveys as needed to assess actual field conditions and ensure the designed system fits the given building structure.\nAttend departmental meetings and social functions as required.\nPerforms other duties/special projects as assigned.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent 4-year degree.\nEngineering in training (EIT) certificate in the State of Wisconsin preferred.\nPreferred two-three years of experience in designing HVAC systems.\nExperience in leading diverse project teams and projects.\nKnowledge of and experience with the commissioning process.\nProficiency with AutoCAD, NAVIS works, REVIT, REVIT MEP, or other relevant software. REVIT proficiency is preferred.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.\nExceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.\nValid Driver's License.\nDescription of Physical Working Environment:\nWorks in a standard office environment. Tasks in the office involve regular sitting or standing with computer use.
