is an onsite position.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nIn conjunction with the specialty hospital Executive Director and Director of Nursing, the coordinator will oversee the daily operations the continuum of surgical services and med-surg nursing departments, ensuring high-quality patient care, staff efficiency, and compliance with hospital policies.\nClinical & Operational Leadership:\nSupervise nursing and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and hospital policies.\nCoordinate surgical case flow to optimize OR efficiency and minimize delays throughout all departments.\nAssist in developing and enforcing policies and procedures to maintain safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.\nAct as a liaison between the surgical team, anesthesiologists, and other departments to facilitate seamless patient care.\nEnsure proper staffing levels by assisting with scheduling, assignments, and workload distribution.\nMonitors work status and progress.\nAssists in the recruiting, hiring, orientation, development, and evaluation of all staff.\nEnsures that patients are treated courteously by all staff and that other visitors are screened and properly directed.\nEnsures that requests for information are handled promptly and effectively.\nWorks with other administrative staff to ensure efforts are coordinated and high-quality patient care is provided.\nParticipates in professional development activities.\nPatient Care & Safety:\nMonitor and evaluate patient care practices to ensure compliance with clinical standards and protocols.\nSupport nursing staff in managing complex patient cases and responding to emergencies.\nPromote a culture of safety by identifying and addressing potential risks or hazards throughout the hospital.\nMaintain proper documentation of patient care, safety incidents, and quality improvement measures.\nStaff Development & Performance Management:\nMentor, coach, and provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff.\nConduct performance evaluations and participate in staff disciplinary actions as needed.\nAssist in onboarding new nurses and ensure competency in surgical procedures and protocols.\nFoster a collaborative and supportive team environment.Quality Improvement & Compliance:\nParticipate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.\nEnsure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and state/federal regulations.\nMonitor and report on performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.\nAssist in incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions when needed.\nAssumes other related responsibilities as required and assigned\nEDUCATION\nBachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or related field required.\nEXPERIENCE\n3+ years of experience in a healthcare or clinical coordination role, preferably in musculoskeletal care or surgical services.\nREQUIREMENTS\nLicensed clinician (RN) Required, BSN Preferred.\n\nKNOWLEDGE\nPrinciples, practices and basic knowledge of nursing services and ancillary departments.\nWorking knowledge of basic hospital administrative functions.\nDevelopment, coordination and delivery of medical services.\nKnowledge of musculoskeletal clinical practices, workflows, or rehabilitation care preferred.\nGovernment regulations and codes including but not limited to The Joint Commission, DNV, State Agencies, ARRA, COLA, Pharmacy Board, and Nursing Board.\nSKILLS\nExercising a high degree of initiative, judgment and discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives. \nAnalyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.\nEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, providers, management and the public. \nExercising judgment and discretion on developing, applying, interpreting and coordinating departmental policies and procedures.\nABILITIES\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of professional, administrative, technical and clerical staff in both a direct and indirect influential situation. \nAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, E-mail, and database software in performing work assignments. \nAbility to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines.\nAbility to establish and maintain quality control standards.\nAbility to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned work functions.\nAbility to collect, organize, and analyze data for program tracking.\nENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS\nWork is typically performed in an office, hospital, and clinical environment.\nTravel to affiliated hospitals, clinics or partner sites may be required.\nAbility to work flexible hours to support patient education and program activities.\nPHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS\nRequires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Some bending and stretching required.
