Founded on the belief that lasting recovery is possible, HIA operates across six states - Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Texas, and North Carolina - serving individuals and families affected by addiction through residential recovery programs, community outreach, and discipleship.\nEvery member of the HIA team is called to embody the organization's mission and values as both a professional and a servant leader.\nPosition Summary\nThe Grant Coordinator researches and identifies grant sources, develops and maintains funding relationships, writes and submits grant proposals, and monitors the implementation of a variety of grant opportunities to support Hope Is Alive's mission.\nMinistry Alignment\nThis position requires active support of HIA's Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct. The following reflect how this role specifically advances our mission:\nEvery grant secured translates directly into more residents served, more homes staffed, and more families reached by HIA's mission.\nBuilding strong, honest relationships with funders reflects the same integrity and stewardship HIA expects in every donor relationship, since funders are trusting HIA to use their resources well.\nThis role requires the same diligence and follow through HIA expects in every area of ministry, since inaccurate reporting or a missed deadline can jeopardize funding that residents depend on.\nKey Responsibilities\nThe following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this position. This list is not exhaustive and may be adjusted to support organizational needs.\nPrimary Duties\nResearch and identify grant sources, evaluating degree of match to ensure alignment with HIA's funding needs and mission\nDevelop and manage relationships with funders to ensure satisfaction with HIA's expectations and performance\nDraft and submit grant proposals with supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization\nWork closely with Finance to prepare budgets and financial reports for projects\nAdditional Responsibilities\nMonitor proposal and funding application requirements, including number of copies, content, delivery method and labeling, deadlines, and eligibility, to maximize successful awarding of grant funds\nWork with other departments to uncover specific project needs eligible for grant funding\nPrepare reports summarizing grant activities, including expenditures and outcomes\nDevelop processes and procedures for a consistent grant application methodology\nResearch statistics within the program and nationwide to ensure the most recent data is reported in proposals and funder updates\nQualifications\nRequired\nEasily develops relationships and is personal and relational with funders and colleagues\nReliable, responsible, available, and present\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nSelf motivated, always looking for ways to do something better, with a forward thinking planning style\nOrganized, with strong prioritization skills and the ability to plan and meet deadlines\nDetail oriented, ensuring grant application guidelines are followed\nCreative, always finding innovative approaches to winning grants\nStays up to date on the latest education and information relevant to grant funding\nProficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace\nPreferred\nPrior work experience in grants management \nAbility to work independently\nA positive and professional attitude\nAble to work some nights, weekends, and overnights based on the event schedule\nAbility to travel in and out of state throughout event seasons\nPrior experience in a small, fast scaling organization\nBachelor's degree in a related field\nA passion for HIA and its mission\nCore Competencies\nSuccessful candidates will demonstrate strength in the following areas:\nMission Alignment - Understands that every grant secured directly expands HIA's ability to serve residents and families\nRelationship Building - Develops and maintains strong, trust based relationships with funders\nDetail Orientation - Ensures grant guidelines, deadlines, and reporting requirements are consistently met\nCreativity - Finds innovative approaches to identifying and winning grant funding\nOrganization - Manages multiple proposals, budgets, and reporting deadlines simultaneously\nWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements\nThe following conditions are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.
