Day Shift: 6:00AM - 6:30PM; Night Shift: 6:00PM - 6:30AM. Schedule is 2-2-3.\nHorizon Organic Benefits:\nCompetitive Starting Salary\nBonus Eligibility\nMedical, Dental and Vision after 30 days\nFlexible Time Off per company policy upon hire\n401K with Company Match eligible on the 1st of the month after 30 days, immediate vesting\nEmployee Assistance Program\nTuition Reimbursement\nFitness Reimbursement\nEmployee Discount Program\nThis role will be onsite at the Salt Lake City plant.\nAbout the Job:\nManaging and mobilizing a team of hourly associates to ensure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are met\nDriving accountability through strong leadership and setting consistent expectations\nWorking cross functionally with other departments within operations to ensure production requirements\nPromote a positive team atmosphere and champion involvement of all employees.\nRegular, formal, and informal evaluations and feedback of the performance of hourly associates\nValidation of time and attendance through daily and weekly reviews of your employee timecards utilizing the Dayforce payroll system.\nAddressing employee concerns; elevating to next level leadership as needed\nAdminister discipline as required for job performance, attendance or any other violations.\nEnsure adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO)\nConduct pre-shift meetings with in-coming operators in front of daily management board(s) to discuss topics related to previous shift, SQCDMN metrics, and general plant communication\nWorking cross functionally with other departments within operations to ensure production requirements\nStudy manufacturing production and shipping schedules, identify gaps and risks while collaborating with the manager and peers to balance work schedule\nEnsuring departmental compliance with company's policies and procedures\nEnsuring departmental SOPs are current and utilized by all hourly associates; will also provide necessary job specific training as warranted.\nIdentifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the department\nImproving and maintaining communicated performance standards for the department; managing with the flexibility to react as needed when breakdowns arise\nPerforming root cause analysis, problem solving, and follow-up related to operational and safety incidents within the department\nDevelop root cause analysis using 5-Why, Fishbone diagram, etc. to re-align operational performance with goals and objectives\nLead and Participate in continuous improvement efforts including but not limited to AM, PM management, 5S, DMS, etc.\nEnsure sound communication systems are in place so all employees are aware and can participate in continuous improvement of the operation.\nEnsuring departmental SOPs are current and utilized by all hourly associates; will also provide necessary job specific training as warranted.\nManage shift employees to ensure compliance to all SOP’s, QAR’s, Plant Rules and ISO Standards, including non-conformance management.\nResponsible for the operational performance of the assigned shift\nAbout You:\nBachelor’s Degree; (BS Degree in Chemical /Mechanical/Industrial Engineering is preferred)\n2 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/packaging environment. Previous supervisory experience within a food/beverage environment is preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nDemonstrated continuous improvement and/or lean manufacturing experience.\nQuantitative analysis skills including the ability to manage and understanding budgeting and loss analysis.\nFamiliarity with CIP/HAACP/AIB (preferred)\nMust possess excellent analytical, troubleshooting, conflict management and problem-solving skills\nMust possess demonstrated planning, communication and supervisory skills\nShift flexibility where weekends and nights may be required\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nResourcefulness and decision-making ability\nMust have the ability to work under pressure and potentially stressful conditions\nUnder minimal direction, works independently toward departmental objectives\nMust be self-motivated and a self-starter\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an\nemployee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
