In this role, you will assemble, test, calibrate, and maintain multimodal digital surgical microscopes, comprising multiple incoherent illumination and digital microscopy channels as well as an integrated Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) system.\nResponsibilities:\nPrecision optical system assembly, alignment, calibration, and repair\nOptical measurement and test, including resolution, field of view, radiometric, etc.\nDesign and fabrication of optical test fixtures\nParticipation in design reviews of optical, mechanical and electrical systems\nOptical fiber handling and termination\nElectrical and mechanical benchtop work under the guidance of senior engineers \nAuthoring, maintaining, and following build instructions and SOPs\nCreating, updating, maintaining, and providing feedback on electronic log books, assembly instructions, inventory logs, device travelers, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, status reports, and other documentation\nVerification and validation testing\nWorking cross-functionally with other teams to support system integration\nRequired Qualifications and Abilities:\nBachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline\n0-3 years professional experience in engineering or a related field\nExperience working with precision optical systems\nExperience with electronics assembly and/or repair\nExperience reviewing mechanical designs in CAD software\nStrong communication and organizational skills \nDesired Qualifications and Abilities:\nExperience in medical, aerospace, or other highly regulated industry\nFamiliarity with optical design software\nFamiliarity with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)\nExperience with 3D printing (SLA and FDM)\nThis
