This role acts as the first line of leadership, providing technical guidance, task delegation, and performance monitoring to ensure all maintenance operations meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nSupervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians to ensure timely task completion.\nSafety First. Be an active advocate of, and participant in the Safety Culture. Safety shall always remain the highest priority.\nDemonstrate practical knowledge of all phases of shipboard safety procedures and knowledge of location and use of all firefighting and safety equipment (i.e., fire extinguishers, life preservers, work vest).\nImplement and monitor Preventative Maintenance Program.\nDevelop work orders and issue maintenance and repair assignments.\nMonitor the completion of maintenance and repair tasks by Company personnel and outside contractors.\nMaintain machinery history.\nSail as watch Chief Engineer if required.\nUnderstand and comply with HELM operating procedures.\nAssign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure maintenance activities are carried out effectively.\nProvide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to maintenance personnel.\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company policies.\nConduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs.\nSupport the development and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules.\nMentor and train team members to enhance technical skills and promote continuous improvement.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory usage.\nCommunicate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.\nAssist the Maintenance Supervisor with resource planning, performance reviews, and project execution.\nRemain true to and champion the Company’s RESPECT Values and Code of Conduct.\nAdditional job duties as assigned.\nRequirements & Qualifications:\nEducation: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.\nExperience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.\nSkills: Strong leadership and team coordination abilities;
