{"id":2478197,"url":"https://alion.io/job/hotwire-communications-construction-technician-2","title":"Construction Technician","company":{"id":3190530,"name":"Hotwire Communications","domain":"hotwirecommunications.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/hotwirecommunications","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"UltiPro","truth_index":null},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":"middle","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Houston, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":47000,"max_usd":85000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":4202},"experience_years_min":3,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-13T20:28:19Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-13","last_verified_at":"2026-10-17T19:02:30Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":4,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":4},"description":"The Construction Technician is responsible for quality installation practices during installation of Hotwire services including video, voice and internet for commercial and residential applications including but not limited to common areas, IDFs and MDFs.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nAssist installation and other teams with customer activation of fiber-optic telecommunication in subscriber homes (e.g., pulling low-voltage wire); including single family, condo and apartments in various locations.\nInstall and service full video services, including analog, digital, and HD TV.\nInstall, service, and disconnect telephone and internet customers; punch down telephone lines.\nMaintain a safe work environment by following safe practices and adhering to safety policies, which includes practicing safe driving techniques.\nInstall all types of CAT5/CAT6 drop wire and install connectors on CAT5/CAT6 drop wire.\nTrouble shoot video, telephone and internet problems from any telecommunications demark to customer premise equipment.\nTroubleshoot IP issues from any telecommunications demark to customer premise equipment.\nSuccessfully install all ancillary equipment provided to subscribers.\nTest and tone all wires from equipment room to outlet.\nInstall RF In-Building cellular systems at various sites, perform equipment and system repair, maintenance and testing. \nIdentify and acquire parts for replacement and maintenance and Wire, connect, test and maintain new service or systems.\nInstall conduit/pathways in the ROW from source to site by trenching, excavating, hand digging etc.\nUse RF test equipment such as a PIM unit, Line Sweep Tester or Light Meter to verify full functionality of installed components.\nUtilize construction documents to plan and complete site builds.\nCoordinate utility locates and implementation of traffic control plans.\nTroubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, RF radios, omni directional antennas.\nPlan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes and local electrical codes.\nOther duties as required or assigned.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \n To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
