This position reports to the Executive VP of Finance. The Staff Accountant will provide accounting support to the Accounts Payable, general fiscal areas of Housing Plus. \nSkills:\nExcellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse organization staff, in a positive, inclusive work environment.\nAbility to manage priorities and meet deadlines without compromising quality.\nProficiency in MS Excel.\nRequires excellent communication skills.\n Duties/Responsibilities:\nReview and process accounts payable (A/P) invoices and generate checks & electronic payments to vendors/suppliers.\nCommunicate with vendors as needed.\nFile all accounts payable supporting documents & retrieve for audits and other review.\nRecord and post cash receipts for rent collection.\nDeposit & record cash and checks and maintain proper supporting documentation.\nWork closely with Development department on cash receipts reconciliation.\nReconcile and replenish petty cash, and process employee reimbursements.\nInitiate and record credit and debit card payments.\nMaintain cost allocations for A/P vendor expenses.\nProcess year-end 1099 Forms and distribute to vendors and government entities.\nMaintain lease and rent schedules and maintain all accounts payable contracts.\nMaintain analysis of certain balance sheet accounts.\nComplete special projects and other duties as assigned.\nReconcile and record Credit Card transactions.\nFollow up on action items and collaborate to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks and projects.\nREQUIREMENTS:\nSkills/Abilities: \nExperience in a non-profit or mission-driven organization a plus.\nExperience with government funders a plus.\nEducation and Experience:\nA bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college.\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods of sitting at a
