The challenge and opportunity you seek can be found at Houston Engineering!\nAs a Survey Technician at Houston Engineering Inc. (HEI) you will get the chance to work on a wide variety of projects. This role will be a mixture of office and field work for someone who enjoys collaborating with a team and being out enjoying the many seasons the Midwest has to offer!\n In this role, likely duties include being part of a survey crew supporting various projects within the civil engineering field. Types of survey work will include boundary surveying, preliminary surveys to be used in civil design, construction staking and as-built post construction surveys. Additional duties may include construction observation. Candidate must be willing to travel throughout the state/region for project meetings, project management related activities and construction observation.\nTravel to various jobsites to obtain necessary survey data and jobsite information.\nGather field survey data to determine precise location & measurements of points, elevations, and contours, etc.\nProcess survey data, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and professional standards.\nPerform simple surveying calculations, deed research, deed plotting and map checks.\nPrepare accurate survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions and alignment drawings.\nEnsure schedules and productivity objectives set by Survey Crew Chief are achieved.\n High School diploma or equivalent is required.\nAA Degree in Engineering Technology or Land Surveying preferred.\nAbove average math skills and strong computer/ technical skills.\nStrong communications skills with the ability to interact with coworkers and contractors.\nMust be detail orientated, self-motivated and able to work in an outdoors environment.\nValid driver's license required with good driving record.\nAbility to lift equipment or objects weighing 50 to 75 pounds.\nDaily activity will require prolonged periods of standing, walking and pounding hubs.\nTrimble survey equipment experience preferred.\n Benefits of Joining HEI\nAs part of
