Will you be one of them?\nYou will be responsible to:\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our Automation team. This is a senior individual contributor role with manager-level accountability, providing technical leadership across automation design, system lifecycle management, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nThis position offers a unique opportunity to combine operational support, project delivery, digital innovation, and strategic influence within a highly regulated GMP manufacturing environment.\nAutomation Systems & Technical Leadership\nMaintain, support, and optimize existing automation and process control systems.\nDesign, develop, configure, and implement automation solutions using DeltaV and associated technologies.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues affecting manufacturing operations.\nProvide technical guidance and recommendations to manufacturing, engineering, and process teams.\nDevelop and maintain standards for process control, alarms, interlocks, and human-machine interfaces.\nSupport system lifecycle management, including upgrades, enhancements, and obsolescence planning.\nValidation, Compliance & Documentation\nDevelop, review, and approve automation specifications, testing documentation, qualification protocols, and standard operating procedures.\nExecute and support commissioning, qualification, validation, and testing activities.\nEnsure compliance with GMP requirements, 21 CFR Part 11, and internal quality standards.\nParticipate in internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory activities.\nSupport root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.\nProjects & Continuous Improvement\nDefine requirements, plan, and execute automation projects and system modifications.\nManage automation project activities from concept through implementation and qualification.\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery.\nSupport the development and implementation of new digital and automation technologies.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives across automation systems and manufacturing processes.\nCollaborate with automation teams across Hovione sites to share best practices and standardization opportunities.\nStrategic Contribution\nContribute to annual automation objectives, resource planning, and budgeting activities.\nMonitor and report automation system performance and project outcomes.\nInfluence automation strategy and process design decisions through technical expertise.\nSupport HSE initiatives and participate in risk assessments including PHA, FMEA, and HAZOP studies.\nWe are looking to recruit a Candidate:\nDegree in Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing environment.\nStrong hands-on DeltaV programming and configuration experience.\nExperience with automation system design, commissioning, qualification, and lifecycle management.\nProven ability to troubleshoot and resolve automation issues in live production environments.\nKnowledge of GMP regulations and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.\nExperience developing technical documentation, specifications, test protocols, and validation documents.\nExcellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.\nStrong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.\nFluent English, both written and spoken.\nPreferred Experience\nPharmaceutical manufacturing experience.\nExperience within medical devices, biotechnology, oil & gas, or distillery industries using DeltaV systems.\nEmerson DeltaV expertise.\nExposure to digital transformation and industrial automation innovation initiatives.\nHovione is a proud Equal Opportunity Employer\nInclusion and diversity are key to us.
