Will you be one of them?\nYou will be responsible to:\nAs a Senior Process Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding people, environment, and operations, while shaping the future of process safety excellence across a complex and technologically advanced manufacturing site.\nThis is a high-impact role offering broad cross-functional exposure, continuous learning, and the opportunity to influence strategic safety decisions in a dynamic industrial environment. You will provide support to the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of HSE Process Safety frameworks, ensuring compliance, driving best practices, and embedding a strong safety culture across the organization.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProcess Safety Leadership & Strategy\nSupport continuously improvement of the Process Safety Management System (PSM) at site level\nEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards\nIdentify system gaps and drive strategic improvements and optimization initiatives\n\nRisk Management & Technical Safety\nSupport technical risk assessments:HAZOP, PHA, LOPA and others\n\nEvaluate risks related to: New Process Introductions (NPI)\nProcess changes and equipment/facility upgrades\n\nAssess and manage: Major accident scenarios\nChemical risks (CRA)\nTask risk (TRA)\nHazardous area classifications (ATEX)\n\nKnowledge in Industrial Hygiene\n\nProjects & Innovation\nSupport cross-functional projects\nSupport engineering design and operational decision-making with safety expertise\n\nCompliance, Audits & Performance\nSupport internal audits, inspections, and compliance activities\nFollow-up of HSE performance metrics and KPIs\nFollow-up of risk assessments recommendations/implementations\n\nIncident Investigation & Continuous Improvement\nLead and support incident investigations\nDefine and implement corrective and preventive actions\nDrive a culture of learning and continuous improvement\n\nTraining & Safety Culture\nParticipate in HSE training programs\nPromote a culture of:Safety excellence\nContinuous learning and knowledge sharing\n\nSupport onboarding and mentoring of team members\nDesign required HSE training and communications. Build materials and measure competency/effectiveness\n\nEmergency Preparedness\nSupport emergency response systems and procedures\nWe are looking to recruit a Candidate:\nDegree in Engineering, Chemistry; Mechanical or related scientific field (mandatory)\n Master’s in Process Safety or equivalent (preferential)\nHealth & Safety professional certification Level VI (mandatory)\n 5-8+ years in manufacturing or industrial environment (chemicals/pharma preferred)\nStrong experience in:Process Safety and Major Hazard management\nSupporting HAZOP / LOPA studies\n\nAdvanced knowledge of:Process Safety methodologies\nRegulatory frameworks (e.g., COMAH)\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nProficient in MS Office, SAP and data analysis tools\n Fluency in English and Portuguese (mandatory)\nHovione is a proud Equal Opportunity Employer\nInclusion and diversity are key to us.
