HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.\nRequires, under guidance of senior personnel, the operation of CNC controlled machine tools to perform any sequence of programmed operation using programs and tool layouts provided.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nPrepares, sets up and operates multiple Wire EDM machines.\nIndependently makes complete set up of multiple tools in fixtures.\nMaintains machines and performs maintenance as needed.\nWorks from prints, charts, sketches or oral instruction when needed.\nRead prints and uses precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers and depth micrometers to check parts for conformance to specifications.\nAfter set-up and ran checks parts against drawings to verify compliance.\nFollows all safety procedures including but not limited Lock/Tag/Verify.\nWill train future Operators as necessary or required.\nParts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.\nKeeps work area clean (and equipment), safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.\nPerforms other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.\n Basic Qualifications:\nAble to operate and set up Agie wire EDM machines or equivalent.\nAble to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or verbal from blueprints and or sketches.\nAble to work accurately to meet precise tolerances of (+ - .0005).\nMaterial knowledge of tool steels and carbide\nMaintain proper identification of parts and ensure accurate, reliable records are documented and maintained.\nAble to operate more than one machine at a time.\nPerform preventive maintenance on equipment operated.\nKnowledge of Mastercam Wire EDM programming a plus\nMinimum 3 years related experience in operating and setting up Wire EDM machines, or equivalent previous experience with a fastener manufacturing company.\nEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
