This position has responsibility of product development and qualifications for product lines at our Torrance location.\nResponsibilities:\nPlan, initiate, and drive development of new fastener products and improvements\nCollaborate and build relationships with customers on fastener concepts and qualification activities\nInitiate and prepare product samples and tests for customers and internal management\nOversee qualification testing and prepare qualification reports in accordance with customer procurement specifications to become an approved supplier\nCreate and revise product drawings, specifications, and product control documents in accordance with customer requirements\nSupport Sales and Application Engineering activities\nSupport customers with troubleshooting support through detailed analysis of fastener and installation system problems, including supporting corrective actions as needed\nOversee manufacturing planning, drawings, and router preparation to ensure the proper flow of the product from the drawing to the completion of the parts, including tooling, manufacturing operations, processing, testing, and suppliers\nProvide feedback to Operations management on opportunities for manufacturing process improvements that improve safety, produce higher quality, reduce costs, or increase productivity\nParticipate as a key member of cross-functional teams engaged in manufacturing process improvement\nKey member of MRB to investigate product rejections and provide researched decisions\nPrepare and document Design and Development activities in accordance with AS9100 Quality standard\nWork with laboratories on testing and preparation of test data\nUtilize analytical tools and simulation software to evaluate product performance and interactions\nComplete all backup, filing and data management associated with work activities to ensure the creation and maintenance of a reliable database of key, proprietary information\nEnsure all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards\n Basic Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in engineering from 4 year university\nMinimum 2 years of experience in engineering\nEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position\nThis position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee\nPreferred Knowledge and Qualifications:\nMaster's degree in engineering\nKnowledge of Aerospace forging, machining, & fastening processes preferred\nKnowledge of Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and scientific methods for problem solving\nStrong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple large projects and interact with all organization levels\nExperience managing multiple complex projects and delivering under tight deadlines and resource constraints.\nExceptional written/oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills\nAbility to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs\nProblem-solving skills; ability to arrive at reliable conclusions based on analysis of information\nAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, for practical solutions\nAbility to comprehend and generate creative design solutions; translate concepts and information into images; use feedback to modify designs\nAbility to write reports, business correspondence, work instructions, and procedure manuals.\nAdditional Requirements:\nMust be able to work on site in Torrance, California.
