This role is critical for safety, compliance, and product reliability in aerospace manufacturing.\nKey Responsibilities\n Inspection & MeasurementInspect machined components using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM)\nVerify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes against engineering drawings and specifications\n\n Blueprint & Spec InterpretationRead and interpret complex aerospace drawings (GD&T per ASME Y14.5)\nEnsure compliance with customer and industry standards (AS9100, NADCAP, FAA requirements)\n\n Documentation & ReportingComplete inspection reports, First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102\nMaintain accurate quality records and traceability documentation\nDocument nonconformances and support corrective actions\n\nProcess VerificationPerform in-process inspections during machining operations\nVerify setups, tooling, and process parameters\n\nMaterial & Certification ReviewCheck material certifications, heat treatment records, and special process documentation\nEnsure full traceability of aerospace components\n\n Nonconformance HandlingIdentify defects and segregate nonconforming parts\nParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)\n\n Required Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED\n1+ years in machining inspection experience within a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred)\n1+ years of using precise measurement equipment including, but not limited to Calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, Height gauges, surface plates, Optical comparators, Thread gauges, plug gauges, Surface roughness testers\nPreferred Qualifications:\nASQ certification (CQI) \nExperience with FAI (AS9102) strongly preferred\nStrong understanding of: GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)\n Aerospace quality standards (AS9100, AS9102)\n\nProficiency with: CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)\nInspection tools (manual and digital)\n\nKnowledge of: Machining processes (CNC milling, turning, grinding)\nMaterials used in aerospace (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, etc.)\n\nAttention to detail and high level of accuracy\nAbility to read complex blueprints and specs\nWork Environment\nManufacturing or machine shop floor\nControlled environments \nRequires standing, handling parts, and working with precision instruments\nBenefits/Salary:\nThe position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package available day one of hire, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation.
