HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California.\nSummary\nPerforms detailed dimensional inspection for customer over-inspection. Performs Source Inspection on behalf of customers as defined in customer delegation procedures. Completes defective material reports, data processing move transactions and first article reports as required. Communicates with department supervision as necessary. Inspector may be held to established quality standards. Incumbent will have control to make minor adjustments to the process after tasks are assigned.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nInspect parts visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications and customer requirements.\nMust utilize all precision measuring equipment and techniques as applicable, including micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.\nRequest N.D.T. evaluations as necessary.\nUse statistical sampling plans; complete/verify various inspection reports-including S.P.C. charts, first article reports, and defective material and test reports.\nComplete data processing move transactions as required.\nCommunicate any daily activities that may need to be passed forward to the next shift.\nMust know how to read blueprints, and to use different gages, such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, threat gages, pain gages, high gages, specs, protrusion blocks, etc.\nPerforms other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required. Other duties and/or responsibilities may be performed as part of cross-training or employee development plan.\nQualifications\n2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment\nExperience performing dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured parts\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and inspection requirements\nBenefits/Salary:\nThe position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation.
