The Privacy Engineer will work closely with Design, Product Security, Legal, Compliance, and Product Management teams to ensure personal data is collected, processed, stored, and shared in compliance with applicable privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other global privacy frameworks. Responsible for establishing and leading privacy engineering practices across the organization, driving privacy-by-design adoption, defining technical privacy strategy, and overseeing privacy risk management for products, services, cloud platforms, AI systems, and connected devices.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of privacy regulations and privacy engineering practices.\nWhat You Might Do\nImplement Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default principles throughout the software development lifecycle.\nConduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and privacy risk assessments.\nPartner with Legal and Compliance teams to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into technical controls.\nSupport compliance with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, ISO 27701, NIST Privacy Framework, and other global privacy regulations and standards.\nAssist with privacy audits, regulatory inspections, and customer privacy reviews.\nCollaborate with the product security team to align privacy and cybersecurity controls.\nReview system architectures for compliance with privacy requirements.\nDefine requirements for logging, monitoring, access controls, identity management, and data protection mechanisms.\nEssential Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related field.\n5+ years of experience in privacy engineering, security engineering, software development, or related technical roles.\n3+ years leading cross-functional privacy initiatives.\nExperience presenting privacy risk and compliance posture to executive leadership.\nStrong understanding of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, ISO 27701, NIST Privacy Framework, and other global privacy regulations and standards.\nExperience conducting PIAs, DPIAs, or privacy risk assessments.\nExperience implementing privacy controls in cloud environments (Azure/AWS).\nKnowledge of:\nEncryption technologies\nKey management systems\nIdentity and access management (IAM)\nData loss prevention (DLP)\nData classification techniques\nPreferred Skills\nKnowledge of AI governance and responsible AI frameworks.\nExperience with data discovery and privacy management tools such as OneTrust.\nUnderstanding of secure software development and DevSecOps practices.\nExperience with:\nISO 27001\nNIST Privacy Framework\nNIST Cybersecurity Framework\nSOC 2\nSalary: $150,000- $240,000\nCompensation & Benefits (Full-Time Employees)\n\nThe salary range for this role is listed above.
