The role will be focused on designing platform security for endpoint devices, with particular emphasis hardware-firmware co-design and on designing and using robust hardware roots of trust and security properties. You’ll also collaborate with business R&D teams to ensure business impact drives our development strategy.\nYou will be contributing to HP’s security research, contributing to analysis of use cases and threats, as well as design and prototyping novel security architecture to help inform the design of future products and services. You will be working closely with systems security research engineers, and with security technologists across HP.\nThe candidate will have solid technical skills and a background in computer engineering and architecture, ideally with knowledge in systems security and some understanding of enterprise IT architectures. This position requires a strong engineer who can communicate effectively about low level computer architecture and security.\nJob Responsibilities\nDeveloping new hardware and firmware security architecture\nBuilding prototypes to de-risk and show feasibility of ideas\nDocumenting architecture and technical designs\nValidating use cases with end-users and business partners\nWorking in a fast-paced environment that iterates and evolves rapidly\nJob Requirements\nExperience with hardware and firmware technologies (x86, ARM, UEFI, PCIe, DMA, etc.)\nKnowledge of computer architecture\nStrong engineering skills\nKnowledge or interest in endpoint security\nAn ability to convey technical knowledge to both technical experts and non-technical teams alike\nThe following skills and attributes are a plus\nKnowledge in systems security\nKnowledge of enterprise IT (device and security) management\nKnowledge of OS kernel and hypervisor security\nDegree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent\nAbout HP\nAt HP, you’ll have a chance to create tools, technology, and solutions that reshape the way the world works in the future.
