As a key member of the Cloud Reliability Engineering team, this position focuses on ensuring the availability, scalability, resiliency, security, and operational excellence of cloud-native solutions. The role drives automation, observability, incident management, and continuous improvement while partnering with engineering teams to deliver highly reliable and secure cloud services that support current and future business needs.\nResponsibilities\nLead the design, deployment, and management of cloud platforms and infrastructure while aligning with business, architectural, and security requirements.\nOwn the availability, reliability, scalability, and operational health of cloud services and platforms.\nDesign and implement cloud solutions and infrastructure that protect and manage cloud-native applications and data.\nBuild and own observability capabilities, including monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and reliability metrics.\nEstablish and maintain Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and operational reliability standards.\nLead incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nEnsure production environments meet HP security standards by coordinating security reviews, vulnerability remediation, compliance assessments, and penetration testing.\nBuild standards and automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, configuration management, and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps practices.\nPartner with DevOps and engineering teams to develop tooling, automation, and platform capabilities supporting cloud operations, microservices, and distributed systems.\nContribute to cloud platform strategy, architecture decisions, engineering roadmaps, and proof-of-concept initiatives.\nDrive capacity planning, performance optimization, disaster recovery, and business continuity readiness.\nChampion CI/CD, automated testing, and reliability engineering best practices.\nCreate operational runbooks, technical standards, and architecture documentation, and provide mentorship on cloud reliability and operational excellence.\nEducation & Experience Recommended\nFour-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.\nTypically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in distributed & cloud computing, software & cloud design, programming languages, agile development methodologies, or a related field.\nPreferred Certifications\nAWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, CSA certified\nKnowledge & Skills\nSite Reliability Engineering (SRE)\nCloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering\nHigh Availability & Disaster Recovery\nObservability, Monitoring & Alerting\nIncident Management & Root Cause Analysis\nService Level Objectives (SLOs) & SLIs\nPerformance & Capacity Engineering\nAWS, Azure, and GCP\nKubernetes & Docker\nInfrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep)\nDevOps & CI/CD\nCloud Security & Compliance\nPython, Java, and APIs\nMicroservices & Distributed Systems\nAutomation Engineering\nImpact & Scope\nServes as a technical leader for cloud reliability, resiliency, availability, and operational excellence initiatives.\nInfluences cloud platform strategy, operational standards, security posture, and reliability practices across multiple product and engineering teams.\nLeads complex projects and provides technical leadership for enterprise-scale cloud platforms and services.\nComplexity\nWorks on highly complex cloud infrastructure and distributed systems challenges where analysis requires evaluating multiple technical, operational, security, and business factors.\nExercises substantial independent judgment in establishing reliability standards, operational policies, and engineering best practices.\nDrives resolution of critical production issues and reliability risks with enterprise-wide impact.\nPay & Benefits\nThe pay range for this role is $130,700 to $205,200 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
